I guess I'm a low-budget, unsophisticated coffee drinker. I'm happy with the 100 yen coffee at 7/11. I especially enjoy the buttery aroma as the beans are ground and the coffee freshly brewed.

I'm not condoning the bombings at all, it was a horrible nightmare situation, but I wonder if he felt guilt (because of his father) for the firebombings, or if he felt something else. I still feel strange walking around areas knowing thousands burned to death where I was, and that those areas had been leveled not so long ago. So when people are not exactly polite to me here, sometimes I can't blame them.

He was a beloved, yet overweight 89-year-old black man suffering from diabetes (I mentioned all these because of risk factors). He was on hospice care due to complications from his disease. Hospice care means you are terminally ill and are being kept comfortable. Sad that his gold-digging family is doing this. I've attended a few autopsies, and I wish I hadn't read this story, knowing what they will do to him.

There's no way she didn't notice. She knew her bill, and she knew what she handed the employee. And combini employees are notorious for counting out the change, so after that first 3,000 yen change she knew. Prolly was planning to use it on her next bill.
On a similar but lighter note...during a trip to Korea I once visited a shop that exchanged currencies. As I walked out I realized I had too much so I went back in, explained, and the guys wife slapped him in the back of the head just like Gibbs.

I was in Hachioji station when the alert sounded. Kinda scarey hearing it sounding on so many phones at once. People all froze and were looking at their phones. I waited, but didn't feel a thing.

What bothers me most is it's most often the older people who are using their phones in the priority seats.

It looks like a mishmash of Batman, Kamen Rider, Godzilla, and something else I can't quite put my finger on. Too over the top. All that crap hanging off of him would really hamper him in a fight.

Wouldn't it be hypocritical for Japan to bother complaining about this? There are Japanese movies with women who have alligator mouths, laser beams, and other weapons in their crotch. I even saw a movie where the girl bends over, cries "hasukashiiii" , and the a machine gun emerges from her butt.

Yubaru is right. Conviction rate is their goal, not justice. A close relative of mine was jailed for a month, endured harsh treatment, endless interrogations, and several blood, urine, and hair tests (all negative) all because somebody mentioned his name when they were arrested.

Hold her until her birthday, let her go, follow her, and when she kills somebody you can put her away for good. NOT. The justice system in Japan really needs upgrading. That sacred 20 year old mark lets so many get away with murder and other serious crimes. And the belief that the privacy of a brutal remorseless murderer is so important is beyond words. I'm not a psychologist, but I think somebody who's wanted to kill since she was a child may be beyond help.
