My wife and I each have a set of ice spikes to wear when the sidewalks get slippery. She slipped and was injured last winter, so we didn't want a repeat. Well worth the 1000 yen I think. Didn't need them today though.

Their customer service here is excellent. In order to receive payments in Japan, I had to add my Japanese bank account information. It had to be in Japanese to match the account information on file at the bank exactly. Problem was, I can't read read Japanese, and my computer cannot input any of the three Japanese scripts. I contacted their customer service via chat and email. They took care of it for me. Not only that, they answered all my emails almost immediately. Thank you!

Goto knew Yukawa before the kidnapping. He also knew Yukawa had problems (a death wish, cut off his own penis, etc), perhaps stemming from a broken heart caused by the recent death of his wife. Goto went back there to try to convince Yukawa to return to Japan. Maybe Yukawa is where he wanted to be all along, with his wife. I hope Goto returns to Japan and is given a hero's welcome.

For those of you unfamiliar with Big Cup Noodles, they contain a dangerous amount of sodium - 2.4 grams, pretty much the daily limit for a healthy adult.

So far, I've returned two cell phones, and a college ID card. But the oddest thing I saw on a train wasn't left behind... a clothed girl mannequin (maybe 13 or 14 year old size) with whom its male owner was apparently having an intimate relationship.

@ Stranger - you forgot to add..."at least until he's released at 20, and his record sealed".
@ Viking - Although we can't be sure in this case, students are generally 18 (or soon to be) when they graduate.
Perhaps he moved out of his parents house for a similar reason. "Hey, high school's over, what are you gonna do with your life? If you want to stay here, better get a job and contribute." So he moved in with grandpa, heard the same tune, and snapped because he was planning to lounge around for several years and become a unemployed male with no fixed address.

I'm sorry for the two fellows, but it won't happen. Japan would be accused of funding terrorism.

The camera only proves he was in the area. Having said that, it seems more likely that he DID grope her. For the girl to pick a random stranger to accuse of something that didn't happen seems less likely.
