And the chinese government still hasn't gotten it into their thick skulls that you CAN'T CONTROL…
It seems no thread is complete without NetNinja's overly long, pointless, insane State of the Union…

Elvensilvan, Did not know that. Great info! But, still....that was a powerful EQ and Tsunami.

So apparently, burglary and theft (among other things) is not a crime if you are a policeman. If I break into somebody's apartment to steal their panties (just as an example), would I get the same treatment?

romulus3...well said. techall...do you think she stabbed him suddenly while they were chatting? Read the article "they had been arguing", and "she was drunk at the time". Teeming cauldron of hate is a picturesque way of saying they were really, really angry at the time it happened.

Why'd they wait for the 15th meal to call police? How about after his 3rd or 4th, when it was obvious he wasn't going to pay?

It takes less effort to abandon the baby at a clinic somewhere. How could anyone strangle a newborn, much less watch it suffer and die?

Ending this career does serve a purpose...weeding out gaijins from a traditionally Japanese sport.

Why do suspects always admit their crimes here? If he had kept his mouth shut, it would have been easy to defend this in court. Some body finds his wallet, and turns it in with a joint in it. Too damned easy, for somebody who doesn't like the idea of a gaijin sumo star, to plant it and ruin his career.

Why be angry with them? Do we know what they prayed there? Maybe they were apologizing, or asking forgiveness of those who gave their lives, or admonishing those who committed crimes. Why does visiting that shrine have a bad connotation?

Betzee...there's plenty of those types in LA. Be careful.
adaydream...I dispute that its recent. It's been going on for a long time. I do have mixed feelings though. If I was a Mexican with a family to feed, and could only find work standing outside a Home Depot Store in LA, I'd probably do the same. On the other hand, don't use the States to do whatever you want, and then run back to your home country to avoid justice.

Before moving to Japan, I already felt like a minority in my neighborhood in Los Angeles. It would be days at a time between "sightings" of other whites like myself. My wife, who is not white, used to joke about it..."Look honey, a white guy, go say hi".

Sounds like somebody had a grudge. Breaking a window to get at the guy would seem to indicate it may not have been random. No money stolen, better check the wife. Maybe a jealous lover???

We is obviously NOT all-inclusive, that would mean that everyone cares whether she was offended. Common sense would dictate that is not the case. Do yourself a favor and look at my first post on this topic. It was only a request for somebody to explain why it should be newsworthy that Paris Hilton's mom was offended. You are the one standing on a soapbox preaching how people should think about this, and the campaign. Your 21 posts illustrate that.
