Awe, c'mon! Murder/suicide? Don't be so bloody ridiculous. Clearly she was murdered by the onsen fairies!
It's just another tragic accident that should never have happened. It was more than likely she passed out from heat stroke and drowned with the baby. A consequence of two very stupid mistakes. 1) going to an onsen while ill 2) taking a baby into an onsen.

Sorry this is an assumption. For all we know she could have been at the local pachinko parlor. However, the facts are, she is a 26 y/o mother who left an infant alone with another child who could not be any older than 8 or 9. We also don't know if he went through or over the railing. Through seems hard to accept, but it's easy to believe there was something on the balcony he used to slip over the railing.
From the facts we can conclude: The toddler was unsupervised. The balcony door was not properly secured. And, there was something on the balcony for the child to use to climb over the railing.
A very sad accident indeed, however, it should never have happened.

Seconded! I had a fleet of helmetless teenagers on scooters go past my place last night at midnight, one of which had three nitwits on the scooter. And, this was on a main arterial road, not a back street. Ummm, where were the police? and, what would they have done? I think anybody stupid enough to ride a two wheel death trap in this country should have their status changed to 'temporary resident'.

This is sooo sad, but by the limited info in this story the child was left alone with his brother. It makes no mention of how old his brother is. It leaves one to ponder if this is another case Japanese parental negligence.

I'm sorry spud. Was I not specific enough for you? Rice is a cereal although, the carbos in rice are burnt very quickly compared to wheat and corn based cereals.

From growing up in northern Australia I can tell you from experience it's not only what you drink, but also what you eat. Water is of course the best, regardless of what the Japanised people think. You should also eat fruits and cereals to keep your carbohydrate levels up. Liquids alone will make you feel worse!

This seems odd in a country that uses nuclear power. Are they protesting against the ship or the Americans in general?

I would have thought giving the school a lick of paint and upgrading its earthquake resistance strength would be a more appropriate activity.
Also, from a horticultural point of view, most of those plants will be dead before the summer is over. Nice token gesture though.

Pretty girl, but too much of an idealist. This is the kind of woman you would be constantly arguing with because you are not nurturing her eternal love. Whatever that means.

Doctor Tofu! Shame! That is a very cold statement, albeit possibly true.
This decision is a total crock. It will do nothing to curtail the CFC emissions nor will it have any effect on the photochemical smog within the heat island known as Tokyo. Day light saving would have a direct effect as it would effectively reduce electricity consumption on a daily basis. Another point to consider is, if the convenience stores were not open 24/7 we would have to start calling them inconvenience stores. No more 24 hour beer! That's bad!

Yep, we should have it. The advantages are far greater than the disadvantages. The environmental impact is enough of a reason, but also adding and extra hour a 'fun time' to Japanese people's lives can't be a bad thing either.
Southern Australia has had it for 20 years. Northern Australia (QLD) objected to it because the dairy farmer's schedule was put out and the cows were coming home at dinner time. TRUE!

Oh, yes! I've been waiting for this to come out! I can't wait till it hits the stores. I'm gonna camp out in front of the store so I can be the first to buy this treasure! - NOT!

I think there is another side to this story. Probably guy this was having a bit of a perve regularly, but this arrest has opened up the door for any woman to claim a man was looking up her skirt regardless of intention.
And furthermore, if he was looking up a girl's skirt I doubt if there is a man in this forum (or country) who hasn't done so at least once! - Build it and they will come - Show it off and they will look!

Yeah, a hard call this one. It happens every day and in most cases it's unavoidable except for staring at your feet. However, this guy seems to have built a bit of a reputation for himself at this station. Unless there is actual security footage of him purposely having a perve he'll get off with a warning and be at it again tomorrow.
