Is this meant to be ironic? So, Japan is also going to follow international rules? It takes two to tango.
Basically, China is only going to listen to China if everyone is dependent upon them for economic growth. That doesn't tell China to play by the rules.
If however countries and people would stop supporting communist China, and instead support economically other local struggling democracies that would be a better foreign policy since that matches mutual ideals. It doesn't mix.
Beijing Olympics 2008 was supported to help open up China, it has done the opposite. Countries should quietly support other nations with the same ideals, rather than a facade

The only thing that needs to quit is this diabolical desire to keep asking for resignations. It's destroying a once proud country to be too proud and impossible to do anything as it reacts to any slight. Sad to watch

since it's an associated press article they are obligated by laws in associated countries to publish the poll size. Japan has no such requirement and until now I had always thought the poll sizes were larger.
the poll itself was not devoid of biases as the article mentions. This would be unacceptable elsewhere.
It looks to me this is revealing the actual poll sizes used for the first time? if this is normal for a Kyodo news poll, then Japanese are being highly manipulated not just very manipulated or slightly
This is a scoop of making the entire article percentages reduced in importance

I think the first time i've seen stats on JT but its an AP press article about Kyodo news. 1000 people is a pretty tiny tiny poll. How about a tiny poll of people who take exits from 1 to 200 at Shinjuku station? or a Fukushima camp? See what I mean? 1000 would be easy and too small to think it is equivalent to a larger population or trend

the United Airlines mod is particularly exhilarating. Lots of side quests called Service, Luggage Finder, and Hotel. Depends on how much time you want to spend though.

Me too! Real Life is awesome. Flying is a little tricky about the timing. There is a side quest available which puts your avatar into a steel bird allowing you to feel the sensations of take off and landing. Then you are awash in a new experience of different geographic locations of your choice. Some credits required.

depends who gets to air it, CBC or CTV. Lots of retired people lately too. (Mr Olympics Brian Williams retired)
The website streaming was good for Vancouver 2010. I could pick what I wanted and either the short version or the whole thing. It makes for great television on it's own... especially without a TV ;)

The only cool 3D thing was a 3D desktop widget but the company was bought up by Google a few years ago and the whole project was disappeared. Put those words into Google and you'll find BumpTop.
That was useful, it was not in my face, did not require all new technology for one characteristic change, and did not impair my eyesight future.
I have real medical concerns for anyone using these machines like this helmet over a long term basis. Fooling the eye into a more 3D experience when it is already an incredible biological 3D machine is asking for side effects.
Big respect to the eye!
@Airion,
good luck, I hope it all works out. For me it's just not worth the effort when I already have the tools for free.
Cheers

I can only speak for myself but for me, I find the whole concept comes across as a scam. My eyes already represent things in 3D. I don't need more 3D in 3D.
For this helmet it puts the screen right into your face, just like a 3D movie. I guess the other point to make is that I don't want the screen in my face. Even when I sit in the third or fifth row of a movie, I'm still further away than wearing glasses or this helmet. I get the surround feeling without it actually being near my face.
Day to day I maintain a fair distance from my face to the computer screen as an IT person for over a decade and as a result still do not require glasses. As opposed to most people I work with. If you are already blind and need glasses to live then 3D glasses may be just fine, just another pair to wear. I don't need them and I don't plan to buy into the marketing.
I can see. And I plan on keeping it that way.

I don't watch TV anymore, so maybe I'm not the type. But a lot of my friends (both in Japan and out) gave up on TV as well. Movies are fine and yes apparently I avoid the dark screen syndrome by sticking to 2D films at less cost. (thank you Roger Ebert review on 3D). I'd have to update all my tech just for a minor change? Nope. Not going to do that. No. I'm talking about the expense. If you want to pay the expense fine, but at some point studios will give up on it if it means fewer receipts. I can see. I have eyes and they work pretty well. There is no need for more-insight mystic of 3D. I can enjoy a movie just fine.
I download otherwise see the occasional film in theatre if I can't wait (X-Men First Class) , but that's about it. There is nothing to be gained by the 3D effect in films, it has limited use and is generally a waste of time.
There are more important things to be doing anyway.

I do this all the time, especially during street festivals like Taste of the Danforth (Greek food festival). Or sometimes restaurants. The phone camera doesn't have a flash in my case.
This is neither a Japanese nor exclusively woman thing to do. It's a human thing to do, to share the experience. And it happens everywhere either more or lesser extent.
I find this question judgemental and xenophobic, like no one else exists.

the same movie with 3D screens versus 2D screens loses more money per theatre. It's only a matter of time for 3D to vanish again.

Human Target
Actually that helps real books when e-books become ad filled and unreliable scams/spam. At this point they are popular so there is a challenge. However for readers like myself and I'm even technical, I see both uses everyday. They are even available at local libraries in Toronto.
Personally I prefer print. I notice that articles I read are mostly online, so it's really the newspapers and magazines that have suffered. Books on the otherhand last much longer so it comes down to the shelf life of the item.
