Toronto Deep Lake Water Cooling... you stick a giant tube underwater and pump the hot down and get cold back and save major $$$ on large scale airconditioning. Been in service since 2004.
I don't know, maybe it has a use outside of Toronto? Modified so that it's not a drinking water system, but the cooler water in a closed loop would be cheaper to run than Toronto's fresh water system. Maybe.... Maybe even in a nation surrounded by water, in the middle of summer, in heatwave after heatwave?
Hmm.. Naw, nvm...

however if people have a market to pay into that is also the local market, it need not even need to be opened if everyone is receiving the benefit. Then the market pays the going rate.

it was supposed to work in a open market, but the reality has been that the market refuses to be open so it doesn't work. Thus the reliance is best kept as a local monopoly so that people has a direct stake in the outcome instead of hidden behind a door. Local utilities are thus assets in the cities where they exist.

For pete's sake, PLAIN TEXT PASSWORDS. You can make up an encryption, any encryption, and it's instantly better.
Yes I also read it was an SQL injection hack. Sony is lucky the drop table command wasn't issued. Or maybe it was? Anyway, the SQL commands were not escaped to prevent the injection. No error checking what so ever. It's a miracle it lasted so long.

I don't think it even qualifies as a "hack" if it's a plain text password. You might as well lock people up who know HTML while you're at it

Simple ordering online and you pick your exact seat so you know where you are on the plane. No more stupid random seating.
Direct flights, zero wait time, nice comfy seats at a good price, jovial professional crews. Yes they do exist.
Brown bagging it on meals and a plug in on my seat and I'm GTG. I've had it where ordering (the free drinks) on the menu was from the screen rather than waiting for someone to walk by. I didn't have to disturb my sleeping neighbour.
I thought Virgin America was the comfort and service I wanted without the frills I really didn't need.

Yes please. Actually Kan should be encouraging this, put Ozawa and all his fellow cronies all on one party. Call it the Bitter Old Crony party, and it will allow people to really have an explicit choice whenever an election is called.

what a sad statement considering Americans eat many times a healthy amount of food. (Canadians as well for that matter). The issue is not quantity but variety, quality, and locally grown food, not mass production of cheese doodles. To what end? What happens once all the int'l aid is gone and Americans are even fatter? Then what?
