Heaven forbid a new story receive a new post. This must be self moderation about highlighting the downfall of a Japanese company. Don't take it personally. Just report the news. It's a new story, so this should be a new post.

As we have troubled our customers, business partners and shareholders over a series of press reports and a slump in share prices, chairman and president Tsuyoshi Kikukawa today returned his titles as well as his right to representation the Olympus statement said

So it was only because of the stock price, not because of any admission of any wrongdoing. The board is also responsible for this and they have to go as well. The Sumo standard of refuting criminal activity is not going to wash outside of Japan.

This must be the new Japan. The Japan that can say no to accountability but yes yes yes to endless corruption. Only with the FBI probe does this come down even more.

Wow, a low probability that the two events are connected!

Probably so much radiation from unreported leaks over the years that only since the Fukushima disaster are citizens (not gov't) finding all the hot spots only because they are actually looking for them.

You'd think the Occupy movement in the US would provide a clue as to how to deal with the problem, and kick the old men out of office. All of them.

arrest the bankers. That would do something. Or do nothing and allow the unrest to grow and grow until all the demands are met. I hope this changes America from the inside out until all the demands are the country and all the naysayers are then on the outside.

...and in come the lawyers. No chance of the Chairman and his board minions of stepping down now.

does it have a slow sarcastic clap mode? Thus depicting the makers feeling about replacing humans and making everything fake, then he can die in peace. OR else he might do something useful for life as it currently exists. Wouldn't want that. That would mean 1) making decisions, 2) having an opinion.

“I want the the audience to enjoy the creepy and surreal feelings this product gives as entertainment,” said Masato Takahashi

Um... Heaven forbid the audience enjoy the sounds of the ... audience.

Secondly, note the design fail on the laser tsunami warning. If everyone is indoors or if outside never looks at the sky as they are too busy looking at their shoes then it's not going to work. But, yeah spend untold millions on it and see how it goes.

File this under "They used to do this" for future generations wondering why Japan fell apart and couldn't deal with any problem at any level in a rational or meaningful way

when it reaches a penny stock, maybe, the board will resign including its chairman. Shouldn't stop international legal action given the London complaint.

An equity strategist at a Japanese brokerage said foreign investors likely drove the selling.

    So they're blaming the foreigners?

Of course. The result will be even more stock losses. Nice one. WSJ nailed it though with the 36% fees versus the normal 1%. That might not be in the news in Japan,. That's fine, it means there isn't as strong a run on the stock allowing for some more people to sell before they do, if ever. Be interesting to see if the Japanese investors then plunge the stock tomorrow on the information? Or is suspicion of fraud with the board confirming their disinterest in resolving the matter not enough? Sounds very corrupt.

Ah, the truth comes to light at last. Now not just the chairman, but the entire board will have to step down before their stock price rises ever again after stabbing him in the back. Woodford challenged the Shades of Ozawa business practices and of course the board favoured keeping the status-quo. Anyone surprised?

more money and greed is not the answer to money and greed. There are too many issues that for too long have been put under the rug. That rug is being pulled open.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said he doubted Canadians would be as angry as their neighbors to the south as Canadian banks have not received a U.S.-type bailout

Except that's a lie. He gave the banks a $75 billion bailout and the controlled media never took him up on it. It's all out there if you look for it.

Suzuki can't play well with others. Seems they didn't address the Fiat engines and now want their money back. I think given the banks involved and contracts signed that won't go well for Suzuki.
