Better safe than sorry...we had over a one meter surge in Okinawa. How do I know? Measured with the officials at one of the ports... Couldn't really see a "wave" so to speak, but it was more of a rip current that filled up the port, then receded. There was a continual rising and falling in the port for several hours of anywhere from 50cm to 1 meter.

The EU should learn from Japan how to fertilize the eggs and raise bluefin on a farm. Some of those farmed fish are now making their way to the market in Japan. Once they learn how to develop a suitable food for the tuna, they can stop having to catch scads for feeding these veracious feeders. I hope they start releasing some of the farmed fish into the wild as a replenishment plan.
