smithinjapan, so true. even when there are events happening live, they still show his skating. excruciatingly painful watching the 'guys' dance and fly through the air like tinkerbell

the sports that japan gets medals in should be dropped. they win bronze in skating and then we all have to suffer through this over exposure and coverage. like the day after the medal was won, all nhk put on was a full replay of he skating competition for mens and pairs??? while there were actual competitions in other sports going on at the same time. reruns, instead of live events??? we're in totally different time zones, couldnt you at least wait until it was night time in van and mid aftrenoon in japan to play reruns? f'n ridiculous

they win a medal and all of a sudden every single person who knows the medal winner in whatever miniscule way gets on TV. kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school teachers and classmates, students going to the schools now, his personal hometwon cheering squad (all 80 years or older), where he eats ramen, goes shopping, all broadcast and all fair game. kinda scary.

as for coverage of the games, well, mediocre at best. their analysts are unknowledgeable, and the announcers seem like they got hired a week before the games.

they way they relay key aspects of different sports seem like the sports are being played for the first time in history.

size? who cares? what about its overall user-friendliness, choice of places to eat, shopping, internet accesibility, and so on? The size is of no real concern to a person that flies often, but these other issues are. As others mentioned above, the location is terrible and the train to get there, just as bad.

people leave and are viewed as transients because there are no permanent posts, absolutely no guarantee of job security, and the pay never goes up. all issues whic you fail to address in your pitiful attempt to represent the foreign language teacher industry. get on this message board and address some of the real issues. i know that grass is green and the sky is blue. who is it you are actually writing this for? if you want to be a voice for these people, start demanding that action be taken. Start fighting for the very people you are supposedly trying to speak for here.

too funny, attract women to the fire brigade so they can do women's jobs like fire prevention seminars t elementary schools and communit centers. real noble cause you're supporting Mari. way to be a postergirl for a profession that keeps the sole of the man's boot firmly square on the face of japanese women

why are these short ugly men always dressed up in the worst possible clothing??? comedy in this country needs an injection of sarcasm and it needs to get over the same lame, physical comedic antics like dressing up in loud outfits and/or coming on stage in underwear.
