The second time Bush "won" he was riding the thin remnants of 9/11 and only barely won by one state. Kerry was a terrible Democratic candidate. Considering Bush barely won against someone as uncharasmatic and unexciting as Kerry doesn't mean the country will automatically vote republican. If Kerry had half the charisma that Obama has he would have stomped Bush to the ground.

The image still exists because it is still true. Detroit has changed almost nothing in the past 40 years. "Improving products" does not mean coming out with XXXL SUV #13, yet that's all they seem to be able to do year after year.
Posted in: There still exists to some extent an old image of American cars as being big, not getting good mileage and quality not up to par with Japanese cars. We have to change this and bring it closer to reality. We do that by improving our products.

i don't understand the controversy with nuclear-powered military vessels when the japanese have nuclear power plants in their own backyard. ones that are being inspected by teenagers, according to earlier news stories. those are just as dangerous as anything in the US Navy.
