Holland is not more tolerant than other countries, despite it´s liberal laws the country is run by concervatives, compared to US Holland might come across as tolerant and liberal but that is only because fundamentalist extremist make up 50% of the population in US.

Anyhow, I think some Muslims in general need to chill a bit too. After the Danish news paper JyllandPost which btw is a small town redneck news paper printed the carricatures the Danish Embassies were torched in Lebanon and Syria. Man, I do not know but that is a bit of over reaction, no?

But it has to be seen in a larger content too. When Europe is in various countries on their colonial wars it will create resentment. Right now, lots or 2nd generation Arabs in Europe who was born and raised in Europe have been going back to Iraq to fight the Americans and more are now going to Afghanistan to fight NATO.

It becomes hypocritical to portrait Muslims as fanatics and at the same time be waging wars on behalf of USA.

Why is there constant reports on Iran about democracy when that country by far is more democratic than most other countries in the region?

Sorry to hear it, but I doubt he would be playing full time even though he was not injured. He made a big mistake of going to USA as he certainly does not enjoy his stay there. Could have been his wife who talked him into it.

Art like this is meant to provoke. Thats why they do this. To provoke Muslims. While I am fairly tolerant regarding free speech, I am not convinced what people drawing this art is trying to achieve. If it is an expression of anti Muslim xenophobia then I think this art is uncool.

Taiji should keep hunting pilot whales for food, and Americans can keep stuffing themselves with fast food. By the time, mercury has an impact on the people in Taiji, Amerians would have had a couple of cancer operations and died of a heart attack.

I think the people in Taiji are doing just fine, a better way to help the people there is by simply leaving them alone and stop ramming your culture down their throats.

Pilot whales are better for your health than fast food and an American diet. According to Health Canada.

*A Health Canada study released this month points to high levels of cadmium and mercury in many of the animals upon which traditional Inuit depend for sustenance. But despite the toxins, nutritional experts and Health Canada agree: a steady diet of meats and fats from the ringed seal and beluga whale still does more good than harm. "The nutritional value of our country foods probably overrides the danger of the pollutants that are in them," Day said in a phone interview from Inuvik, about 2,000 meters northwest of Edmonton. "If would take a lot of proof that it is harming us before we would give up our way of life, our way of eating."

A western-based diet - which includes everything form fast food to the standard Christmas meal - might be worse for the Inuit than eating toxin-laced country food.

"What was more important was the concern about malnutrition from foods imported form the West, because it's not as nutritious as whales and seals," said Leslie Whitby of Indian and Northern Affairs. Rather than have the Inuit eat food that would pose a known health risk, it made more sense to let them maintain their traditional diets, Whitby said.*

Pilot whales or no pilot whales, experts who are not overly cultural imperialists agree that pilot whales are better for you than Mc Donalds and other fast food. In Iceland where people eat a lot of whale meat life expectancy is 2nd in the world after Japan.

Ask them if they eat animals? Or if it is just pilot whales they got something against NagoyaOya-san. If they are not vegeterians ask if they would be interested in eating some whale meat? I know of a great restaurant in the heart of Shitamachi Tokyo in Asakusa.

Also, tell them. I hope people in Taiji will continue hunting pilot whales in the future just so that they can use the dolhpin meat as fertilizer for organic vegetables.

Yes. The Caspian sea has enormous amount of oil and US now wants to control the pipelines which run through the central Asian countries through Afghanistan and Pakistan into the Indian Ocean. Central Asian nations and Iran want to sell more gas and oil. US, Europe, Russia, India, Pakistan and China are anxious to buy more. The only thing holding back the desired transport of gas and oil is the construction of new pipelines. That's what this grand chess game is all about and why U.S. is fighting in the middle of one of the most inaccessible regions in the world while framing it as if they want to spread freedom, 9/11 etc.

Is this the start of a new USRAELI era? This is the harshest criticism of Israel by US in decades. It is immoral to go on supporting the belligerent state of Israel today as it has become a destabilizing force in the region both by its hostile aggression and covert activities in the region. Israel has become a direct threat to its neighbors and Americans overseas and at home.

In addition, Israel's belligerent behavior today contradicts why the state was created to begin with (1) to be a safe heaven for Jews and (2) to be a state for all its people -
according to its UN charter--which it is neither of today.

Indeed, Jews in Iran, Europe, USA enjoy more security than Jews in Israel today and many have refused invitations to come to Israel due to its hostile and appalling human rights record both to the Palestinian and Beduion people.

Thus Israel has become a failed state and its existence as a member state is no longer
necesssary or worth the human cost today and its status should be taken back to the UN for review. it's time for the world to moves beyond this belligerent state of Israel.

The US invasion had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda or Taliban. It has everything to do with strategic control of oil and gas in Central Asia. Did Americans really think they could invade and control Afghanistan? The Americans are defeated. There is fatigue now. There is no way Americans can hold on to Afghanistan.

As anyone who have knows anything about Judaism. Zionism is not Judaism. The word Zion means fort, Al Qaeda means “the base” which is another kind of fort. Right winged Zionists are now talking about another Mosada. Russia is now having their nukes on high alert. US now have 2nd thoughts to give military support to Israel in order for Israel to attack Iran. Nethanyahu is thinking crazy stuff like “if Israel falls we will destroy 200 cities." Real Jews know to do unto others as you would have others do unto you. As soon as the Jews liberate themselves from the paranoid Zionist propaganda, they will be safe.

Who is hunting them there? Do you dare to tell us? Also, it is not like only Americans are trying to stop you...

It is mostly the Anglo Saxon countries which are hell bent on stopping people who hunt whales. According to the World Counsil of Whalers, an umbrella organization for whaling people throughout the world.

I*t is time to bring down the curtain on yet another dark chapter in the history of Anglo-Saxon cultural imperialism.

The anti-whaling lobby is fighting tooth and nail to ensure the whaling ban is never lifted, regardless of the status of stocks. And with no conservation arguments left to support their position, they now resort to tenuous ethical arguments for exempting whales from any consumptive use.

Faced with environmental challenges and yet respectful of cultural differences, the world community has thankfully embraced the principle of sustainable use as embodied in Agenda 21. We have agreed that the use of renewable natural resources is acceptable provided rates of usage are within the resources' capacity for renewal. Yet the West's cultural imperialists would have whales exempted from the sustainable use principle - an exemption that would, quite simply, place them above and apart from the animal kingdom to which they obviously belong.*

Native Americans, Inuits in Canada, USA, Greenland, Danes, Icelandics, Norwegians, Indonesians, people in the Caribbean have been hunting whales for ever. The truth of the matter is people across the world have have been hunting whales for ever including Japan. People who hunt whales have a unified voice. They find the anti whaling stance to be extremely arrogant, rude and culture imperialistic. Who are they to judge what people can eat and not eat? It is their attitude which is culture imperialistic and outdated.

I am pretty sure there is someone who made a documentary on this whale. Just not one you have ever heard of. Are you saying Japan is allowed to get some whales endangered because in the past the US also made one endangered? This sounds pretty stupid to me..

Source please. If you are pretty sure there is a documentary on the North Atlantic Right Whale, care to hare a link? Japan is not hunting whales that are endangered. Thats the point. If the growth rate of whales is larger than the whales being hunted then the hunt is sustainable. Whaling as in utilizing natural renewable resources is the most environmental friendly form of food production for human consumption. Enery is low in releation to yield, no pesticides have to be used and the natural habitat does not have to be destroyed and turned into agricultural land.

Israel has had 60 years to create peace yet they have not been able to. Zionism is a new form of religion which believe that all Jews should move to Israel/Palestine. While ignoring the peoples who have been living there for eons. I think Jews should give the power to Palestinians now, if not now pretty soon, not because I support Hamas or Arafat more than Israel. Infact I do not. I think Palestinians are short sighted who keep shooting themselves in the foot however, Israel has had 60 years to solve the problem and failed.

why on earth are americans this hell bent to stop japanese hunting dolphins/ pilot whales when people hunt whales in us and canada? also, why do not americans make a documentary on the first whale which is about to get extinct. the north atlantic right whale? the reason why i do not support sea shepherd is because they are driven by the hate of whalers than the love of whales. and so are most of you anti whaling people.

No, I do not. What happened was that a CIA backed terrorist flew from an US base from Afghanistan over Iran and his plane was grounded by Iran and then US fighter jets tried to intervene without luck.

Actually, Iranian and US fighter jets exchanged fire over Afghanistan with the Americans “forced to withdrawal” and Iran capturing one of the top CIA terrorists.

**Put this teacher in prison!!! **

When Japanese people get angry which happens from time to time they too often lose it completely. Screaming hysterically and then as this time turn violent.

It also is kind of accepted that a sempai is allowed to beat a kouhai and you are not supposed to fight back to show strength. Look what happened to that one poor sumo wrestler. He got killed!!!

Just the other day I saw this TV show about students having a difficult time at school so they were sent to special school. What I saw shocked me. I saw teachers on NATIONAL TV slapping students in their face!! The students then said, the teacher slapped me because the teacher cares!! Whoa!!! Madness!!!! Granted, sometimes students might be cocky and could perhaps deserve a kick but the moment you actually do it, you lose. I want Japan to have stronger reaction on coorporate punnishment and a change in mind set.

    Fair enough kinniku.

I apologize for not having read this entire thread and coming with conclusions. As a non religious I have no opinion one way or an another of Israel. I thought the creation of Israel by UN was a mistake. It is one of the failed social experiments in modern history. Now that there is already an Israel and by the looks of things Palestinians should have a more pragmatic approach to the conflict. Israel should be happy for what it has and not try to be even more greedy.

I support USAs stance here by condemning Israels latest action but I doubt Israel will listen as no matter what this US government says millions of Dollars will keep flooding into Israel so that Israel can keep expanding and keep oppressing the Palestinians.

However, it is not just USAs fault. Though US might be the biggest supplier of weapons to Israel and Israel does get billions of dollars from US each year, it is with EU, Israel makes the most money as EU is Israels largest trading partner.

It is a known fact that USA has a very large right winged Christian fundamentalist population. AIPAC which is one of the if not the largest lobby group in US is a Christian fundamentalist organization where they use the bible as reason for supporting Israel.
