ASO speaking English on a phone? I doubt it was a very good conversation. I am a very good speaker of Japanese and using a phone is still one of the most difficult things to do in this language to other Japanese speakers, especially if they try to speak English to me. Very frustrating as I cannot see them pointing at their noses or pushing their glasses up with their middle fingers. Face to face Aso will probably be able to deal with it but will need a translator right there for sure.
---Good luck Obama. Intelligent and hopefully wise and productive.

-There are many roads where I live here that you could not get past a body in the street with a car. There was a dude dead in a street next to my mansion last year. Never found the person who hit him. For those interested, his legs were facing the wrong direction.
-Japanese people in general have bad natural radar when it comes to walking in front of dangerous things. That is why driving is so difficult here.
-RADAR= This is the key word. If you take one foreigner, and one Japanese person and put them on opposite ends of a soccer field and tell them to walk. With two to three minutes, the Japanese person will have run into the foreigner and say sumimasen and hold their hand to the back of their head. When I have relatives or friends visit, and they want to know what to expect of this wonderful place, I just say RADAR! They soon figure it out. I am good at both RADARS now though. SUMIMASEN

It grows everywhere here and used to not be illegal. Became illegal after the war. Americans made it illegal. Fools. Mushrooms used to be legal fairly recently. 10 years ago perhaps? Used to sell them on the streets in Shibuya. Considered a vegetable. But some idiot decided they were too dangerous. I beg to disagree. Those 108 plants would have to be set up in a room where you can control the lighting, so not sure how they did that. Legalize weed so the prices come down. Most expensive place to buy it i the world.
