my definition of manners (and that of anybody with any sense or cough manners) is that you treat people you don't know with respect and politeness. how you behave to strangers, not just to your friends, family, neighbours or colleagues is the true measure of someone's manners. In this regard Japan fails miserably

it's happening on a scale here that most other '1st world countries' can't comprehend. outside of the eastern bloc Japanese are the leaders in offing themselves, 100 a day and rising. obviously the Japanese media don't report them all...they would need a daily 2 or 3 page spread. some cases however get plucked out by JT just to let us know they are still doing it and as a warning not to scold any Japanese too harshly in case they take it the very wrong way

I'm looking forward to hearing about the until know unknown information regarding minke whales this research trip has uncovered. will it be a documentary in the BBC Planet Earth style or will it be a restaurant visit with on cue squeals of Oiiishiiii in the NHK style? since commercial whaling has been banned for 2 decades I expect to learn a lot about the complex reproductive organs of the Minke and their possible role in providing new anti cancer/alzheimers agents. hahahahaha, call me a dreamer

the war on terror has been ongoing for several centuries, just because your previous idol gave it a fancy name and used it as handles on his saddle doesn't mean you can shoulder it's responsibility on your new bugbear
