Such silliness. Put some bite into upholding the law and catching those that really break (for example traffic) laws.

Japan has no one to blame but themselves. Just who are the victims here? We, the consumers.

Umami shumami. It is food after all, and heavily salted and sugared at that. Also, I can daintily pick up food with my chopsticks. What does that say about "Japanese-ness?" I am not Japanese.

Stop the madness already. I am so stressed out over this Fukushima crap. Call in more and more experts since these people now can't even take care of a hangnail.

Let's hear it for the commuters who helped. Japan IS changing in this respect anyway. Time was people would just keep walking.

There should be a separate topic area for these crimes committed by people who are supposed to serve, protect and/or teach.

That is no "tree" that ambassador Kennedy visited, a mere replica, a very very expensive one at that. Still it was nice to see her visit covered widely.

Unless you live with this condition you have no freakin idea. Eating out in Japan can be a nightmare. Most things are carb heavy and protein light, the only good thing about lunches out is the veggies and even those are boiled with sugar - that means it is hard to eat some fruit or even a small dessert every once in awhile - had my sugar for the day in those veggies.. I put on weight because of diabetes not the other way around. Also family history and all that. Let's stop blaming the person who lives with diabetes.

I can think of better ways to use that kind of money. Remember the people in temporary housing in the Tohoku region. I am sure they care about cool japan.

If this question was asked about 6-7 years ago I would have had a different answer. A lot of conbini sell fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and even some "dinners" that are not bad in a pinch. For me, that is "convenience" when I don't have time or don't want to deal with a supermarket.
