Well it looks like I picked the right time to move to Okachimachi--this will be much more convenient (and faster) than going to Hakozaki and taking the bus.

Judging from comments I've seen on Japanese-language sites, gamers here think its ridiculous that protesters fail to make a distinction between the 2D world and real life, and don't see what games like this have to do with child pornography (in the sense of real victims/photos, etc.). They seem to think its better to give real pedophiles and rapists a virtual outlet for their fantasies, then to leave them with no choice but to pursue real-world targets. It's a valid point, but somehow I don't think the argument will go over well in the West, which openly accepts (and makes huge amounts of money off of) violent games of shooting and killing, but doesn't seem to perceive any double standard when it comes to their virulent response to sexual violence.
(Note that I in no way endorse the kinds of games mentioned in the article, I think they're sick and should be removed from circulation, but the same should go for games like Grand Theft Auto, too)

There are espresso machines with a mill for grinding single portions, but Nespresso doesn't make one because it wants to sell lots of its little coffee capsules (which is what makes their espresso machines "hassle free"--no grinding, no measuring, no grounds to clean up).

LoveUSA--then by your own admission, in your experience ("I am disappointed with all the gay people or bi-people I have known, without exception.") the entire GLBT community is missing these "human characteristics."
I submit that your experience must have been woefully limited.

We're no more confused than you straight folk. It is only society that confuses us. (I'll admit to not being able to speak for those who identify as bisexual).

And what, exactly, are these "lesser known" categories??
The fact is, while Japan remains 30 years or so behind many other countries in terms of social and legal acceptance of homosexuality, places like 2-chome are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain any relevancy in our lives. The overall drop in drinking among younger people is certainly a factor, economics have something to do with it, as does the Internet, but these places still have a role to play as somewhere gay men and women who still find themselves stuck in the closet (and those who are not) can be themselves, among themselves, without fear of harassment or ridicule.
What you see on TV here is a fad. Our lives are not.

Well of course the biggest thing is you no longer have to hang out in bars to meet guys, thanks to the Internet, and once you've met a guy, hanging out in bars is no longer the only option for weekend entertainment.
Progress, of a sort.

Good luck to Shingo Katayama--his game has been up and down, but he showed well today!
Ryo Ishikawa also played a respectable round for a first-timer, finishing right up there with McIlroy and Lee, who were both expected to end up well ahead of him (most of the experts were expetecting Ishikawa to "miss the cut with room to spare). He had as many bogies as he did birdies, and is certainly not in contention for anything, but the rare good conditions on the course gave him a needed lift.

Hmmmm... more fine reporting of rumor and innuendo!! There is almost nothing factual presented here--"might have", "could possibly", "general theories"... --and certainly nothing newsworthy.
Get on with life, folks.

Well looking at the e-book site for this appliance, there are apparently fewer than 10,000 titles available, and a large number of them seem to be comic books--which makes sense, if they're pushing the color aspect of the device. The good thing is, even with more advanced products on the market elsewhere, this will get a lot of unwarranted hype in Japan for its color feature, but with its high price point, can be easily undercut once Kindle is ready to come to market here (don't hold your breath, though, it is unlikely Amazon will be able to make the same arrangements with Japanese publishers as they have with those elsewhere).

I've had cross-application cut-copy-paste on my pretty generic Toshiba phone from Softbank for years now. What's the big deal?
And i-Phone STILL doesn't offer the functions I really need, like e-wallet and a halfway-decent camera.

They are targeting Japanese as well, though perhaps not so much in Roppongi. At least one ordinary salaryman has died in the past couple of weeks in a spate of spiking/theft incidents in Kabuki-cho (never a very savory neighborhood in the first place). I never go to a bar I don't know or haven't been introduced to by someone I trust. I never drink in Roppongi, either. Or Kabuki-cho for that matter.
