sure would have been nice had this much attention and injecting King into the Ft. Hood shootings, which have been completely erased from everyone's minds.

had the Arizona victims been Hispanic, and not Anglo, there wouldn't be a peep. At least Ft. Victims were multi racial.

Marco Rubio (Hispanic), Alan West (Afr. Amer)" I can tell you this, that these two just might be our prez and vp in the near future.... Gotta love West's shooting from the hip style.

every Tunisian I met was real cool... and they all seemed up to date with the "real" world. Hope AQ doesn't go in and harvest themselves there.

Criminals will always find other ways to kill, like poison and creative bombs found under the kitchen sink" GD: I tried explaining to a few the other day, but in just 2 years driving an ambulance in NYC and 1 year working at a Chicago VA hospital, I seen more stabbings, people hit by hammers or large heavy objects, kids who were put in ovens, people hung from trees and telephone poles, suicides by razors pills and shoe laces than I saw by gun (although still too much for comfort) but my point is that there are forces that are making it out to be JUST guns and legally owned guns.

go ahead, ban guns. I am 100% certain, criminals will still get their hands on them from along the border of Mexico which is virtually controlled by gangs who get guns from not only the US, but direct from China and Russia. I'm keeping mine until everyone is educated enough to know that killing for cash or out of anger is just wrong.

now the question is, how do you educate people with criminal minds?

it's YOU who brought politics into it." To be fair, the entire thing has been politicized

I don't drive much here in Japan, but when we go to the wife's family house I'll do the driving and I notice many times small kids right up on the dashboard, sometimes with a parent on the phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other. I see kids with their heads out the windows, standing up and sticking heads out of the roofs... A law is one thing, I'm starting to believe common sense isn't so common when it comes to driving in Japan

Just my own opinion, but I just watched it, and I believe there was a bit too much cheerleading going on. Not knocking anyone in particular, just think there was too many smiles for such an event.

Looking for any explanation beyond that is just going to leave a bunch of question marks, finger pointing, and frustration" Well, that's what I am trying to play down.. I've got my sister on the very left fighting with my brother who is in the tea party.... And I'm caught in the middle. I thought the left and right finger pointing stopped at JT, but I was wrong.

Sabi, for once you've got my interest.

Anyway, as the left vs right seems to be dying down, I think a good look needs to be made in Heavy Metal, movies, and even hard core gangster rap along with PS/XBOX games..... With a weak minded person such as this guy, that could be what set him off

The warning signs are not all that out of the ordinary (save the "Die bit ch"" about as common as half of Anglos with Heavy Metal music and playstation. oh, wait, he's white, young, kind of a just above the trailer park level, probably listens to heavy metal (or wannabeganster rap), plays Call of Duty and what not, watches horror flicks.

    Smith is right.

The opinions against the death penatly are far more sound than those for." Who decides that? I would like to believe its the voters and of course victims. But like you and a few others here, born rich and live in lilly big house, family alumni seem to believe things should work only in your world view with NO debate. You've decided what is and what is not a sound argument.

The guy killed a kid. that alone should make one want to put him down. If it was yours? No chance of parole is only as good as long as there is money to house him.

Could you just debate the issue and stop building strawmen?" Hey man, your guy brang it up.. and who is he to set a standard? Arizona has the dp, Giffords was pro DP too. Who is he to tell them anything?

You know, the news is getting quite a bit mum on this guy.... you'd think by now we'd know something as to why he killed her. Anyone else we would have had the info.

Kaczinsky and McVeigh were the hard cases." Well, Kaczinsky killed 3, McVeigh killed several hundred - big difference. And we zapped that idiot in due time. I am sure the ACLU will fight as hard for him as it would for anyone else." I disagree, if he had killed a republican, they may have.

Killing him only validates violence as a solution to problems" Time to evolve people. We condemn violence and stand by that moral decision." Just what gives you the "moral" authority to make that statement, are you higher than us? Like, there's no room for debate or even a vote?

Let me see if I get you correct, kill a fetus, gassing dogs and cats are a ok, but putting down a deranged individual who has evolved just a fraction of that of a shark is immoral?

China's military is indeed exapanding at an accelerated rate. But just building weapons looks good on paper but does not make a capable military." I personally believe the US ground forces are done should a war break out with China (or even N Korea for that matter).. basic training is so easy these days compared to other countries. Last I heard, no cussing, whacking recruits up side the head, no touching, has screaming been banned?

how about this, why don't we all wait for the investigation's outcome?

This left and right thing is really starting to annoy me.
And regardless if he's left or right, he's going go in one direction - death!
