this and many other acts could not have happened without guns being so prevalent." Run, I would like to agree, but I've picked up a lot of victims in my short time as an ambulance driver who were chopped up, bludgeoned by bats, chains, bottles, etc.. in fact, I'll go as far as saying that gun victims were the least. That was NYC, which "had" a strict gun law at that time.
Additionally, I asked this question before, but why, why when all 50 states (pre 1970's) had NO gun laws and practically everyone had one in their homes, were gun crimes so few?
Now, may I ask either side, if this guys is proven to be of the left or the right, how are you going to react?

Skip, out of 155 votes against in the House, 151 were Republican. Would you like to try again?. they didn't need the repubs at all.. Also, noticed there the amnesty was taken out of the final passed bill? Oh, and for what its worth, the bill is also supposed to help people like my wife, whose place was destroyed, but guess what - she gets nothing.
the bill mind you covers a select group. there are going to be a lot more people to come and more bills to be passed. Did you bother reading the other proposals to the bill?
You want to twist this into a dem vs repub fight go ahead, I think anyone who puts a party on a pedstle is a wimp anyway

run: guess what, it didn't pass the first time even when Dems had the power, didn't need a single repub vote, but not all dems were on board with the bill, simply because as usual, everyone started adding irrelevant items to it as well not showing how its going to be funded and that amount you see is hardly going 100%, much more like 25% are going to my friends who were first responders. If you want a bill to pass, repub or dem, and want to avoid stupid statements, leave all the crap out it.
The man called for a Smithsonian exhibit to be dismantled because it offended Christianity. He threatened the Smithsonian in the process." If its tax funded, it at the very least should have been de-funded. Oh, and its a whole lot better reaction than a certain other group of people who are offended.

according to our nanny, her family had a decent life under the Shah, interfaith marriages were accepted, secular education, women had voting rights, and Tehran itself was an international city and had gay bars. As for a CIA backed overthrow, there are many sides to the story. One realistic one is the CIA only provided funds and a handful of military advisers to "REINSTATE" the Shah. In retrospect to the current leaders of Iran, none were really elected and Achkmidinajad was only "elected" after media outlets controlled by reformers shut down... This kid had nothing to do, nor should be considered a part of his father just as much we should and we don't target bin Ladin's family.

saw the vid, stupid, but I've seen a lot while in the army and granted, while I was never on a ship for a few months, I did spend many months in a desert, cold mountains, etc.. so I think I have a bit of right to make a statement: You'd be surprised what men do when bored with no light at the end of the tunnel. The only difference I see here instead of the older ones I saw and part of was that that a Capt in the Navy is like a full bird colonel in the Army and the one fact of anti-gay statement. I think there should be a public hearing and I'd like to know what other ranking officers were present.

742,848 military bases that the US has scattered over the globe on foreign soil." We have about 3 Million active and reserve.... you're telling me there's only 4.xx personnel per base? And I didn't know the military is part of the government but a service of the government (unless we have a martial law). You are right though, they should cut the military a lot too but not in uniformed members, but in those GS'ers and high priced contractors... Even went to a base a few months back in NJ. There wasn't one uniformed person there except the security guard.

Health care "reform" is a goldmine for private insurers" That it is but for us, those of us that sell devices its our death bed. You're gonna have a lot of foreign made devices as they'll get tax breaks (they already do) but we don't.
I really wish either party would come up with some type of rule that states that elected officials are prohibited from conflict of interests. Can't figure out how Pelosi and Reid actually got rich, and to be at the top of the wealthiest, by "serving"....

Yes, NYC should have been much more prepared for this storm... we went through one just as bad in 96' while I was still driving an ambulance. We were able to get through still because the sanitation dept. had all boroughs plowed and the bridges were cleared. This time we can clearly say the union was at fault. Too bad JT won't let me put up a youtube link. check it out, New York City Sanitation Worker Wrecks Ford Explorer via a google search.
