mikehuntez: actually its really none of my business... its just that I see people on here cheering for a change and its a change I have a feeling is not what they really want but more of a "stick-it-to-ya" to the west. Kind of like using these poor people to advance their agenda.
Now, I really want to know when these very same people are going to support the Cuban government which has been equally sadistic as Mubarak.... they won't.

Among highlights from the Pew poll:
• 49% of Egyptians say Islam plays only a "small role" in public affairs under President Hosni Mubarak, while 95% prefer the religion play a "large role in politics."
So, is anyone gonna come out and rant about such a conservative view?
• 84% favor the death penalty for people who leave the Muslim faith. This one too.
• 82% support stoning adulterers. and this
• 77% think thieves should have their hands cut off. don't know they mean as someone is stealing or as punishment though.
• 54% support a law segregating women from men in the workplace. Where are the women supporters?
• 54% believe suicide bombings that kill civilians can be justified. ?
• Nearly half support the terrorist group Hamas. That's a gimme
• 30% have a favorable opinion of Hezbollah. gimme
• 20% maintain positive views of al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden.
• 82% of Egyptians dislike the U.S. — the highest unfavorable rating among the 18 Muslim nations Pew surveyed.
Well, this gives me some insight on what to expect on their "new" election day. I've never had the chance to see the Pyramids, I guess I won't now

The military still in control - how is that free?" Good question, and something gives me the vibe that Mubarak and his supporters aren't stepping off that easily..
Now I've watched the world give support to the people of Egypt, why didn't we do the same with Iran several months back? Would we do the same if another Tienanmen square rises up in China again?

I'm with Sabi today: I wonder if he also blasted the Y2K skeptics." Yeah, I remember that.. Anyway, Climate Gate pretty much confirmed the skepticism I've had for years." No, climate gate was clearly push under the carpet.
Scientific journals getting rid of editors that allow the publication of papers critical of this hoax is bound to give the impression that the majority of scientists support the global warming BS." Very true, many people were fired and shut up when they spoke in disagreement
And when you realize that implementation of a carbon tax would have made Gore and his friends lots and lots of money. I have trouble believing that so many continue to fall for it." That's the point I don't get. its ok for Al to make money but no one else. Oh, and don't forget, his film was proven to faked

Mark my words: As soon as it become clear to skeptics just how profitable it van be cleaning up this mess we've made of the planet, they'll do an about-face that causes whiplash and sing the praises of global warming research from the highest rooftops." Don't know who you are directing your post at, but it should already be profitable, however, what the US and other countries want to do is tax their way to cleaning up and give a selected few companies the job of cleaning up and providing replacement products... now, let me ask you, how much meat do you and your family consume? How many PET bottles do you buy in a week? How much washing of clothes, drying, and soap do you use a week? How many showers vice baths do you take? and with that, how much soap, shampoo do you go through? There are skeptics and there are complete unbelievers. I for one am skeptical on how we are to clean it up... I do not like what is proposed.

I'm a bit afraid to say something negative to a prince, but many need to understand a few things. One is is that this has become way too politicized and there are so many sides to this each with their own and paramount idea. I've spent a lot of money on this. Too much. And I hope others don't follow me. Instead of criticizing those who are skeptical, one (he) should try to find out at what is causing people to be skeptical. I for one am very surprised at those like Gore (who I really once though was the real deal) still eat meat at the capacity that they do. they are just as, if not more guilty as emerging economies are trying to get in on said market literally clearing thousands of miles of fields, thus cutting into the rain forests. Yet we hear little. Vegetable farms are another area where we don't hear anything. And I'm well away at the Prince's appetite for meat.
What is being put out there is not the answer. The Cap and Trade is a very detrimental item for business and what they want to tax isn't going to do a damn thing.

closely watching these people take back their country." Yeah, but if it falls under the Muslim Brotherhood rule, all will be lost. Unless of course you are a MB supporter..

Perhaps start with a basic network that connects all the main cities?" No, almost the entire east coast is already connected and north mid west to Chicago. I would suggest it goes from Fla. to Texas to bring investment into those places along the bible/rust belts. go north from Dallas to the border to help build those places out. If they use non-union people, ease up on preferred contracts, and provide tax breaks to companies who manufacture in the US, then I'll even take my shirt off and lay some rails.

It should be a world leader in green tech." You've got a lot of faith in this sector.... are you putting your money into it? Or do you know how much just this admin has prevented investment into said sector? Oh, and again, green tech is fine, as long as you don't have to use union workers, cause that is a driving factor in many areas that's driven jobs, of course stiff regulations need to be mentioned.. Do you know how much land must go to produce ethanol? are the land mass required to create solar fields? This high speed train would and should be welcomed, but I'm afraid the stiff regulation, the high taxes and company will need to pay, the high salaries for workers (who are so under performing), this more of a pipe dream than anything else

I'm all for a high speed railway in the US, but unlike Japan, its the government I don't like being in charge of it (I actually believe that man to man, the J-Gov does a better job than the US gov workers could ever think of doing). My other issue is if all the work going to go to unions (you know, the ones that called for health care, only to get a waiver not to be in) and "preferred" destinations?

Heh, you sound like someone who's never done business outside America.... (Hello Hong Kong?)" You're right in a sense Sushi, but you are being very deceptive... look at the rate of taxes... yes, there are a lot of countries that are easier to start up, get construction permits, etc.. but there is a price to pay for that too. and yes, the other counter poster above is correct, Obama could learn a lot from Hong Kong and all those other countries that are leaning more and more towards capitalizism.

Obama has spent the first two years of his presidency focusing on collectivism. History and common sense tells the business community that investing in a failed ideology isn't a good way to do business and create jobs. The best thing Obama could do for job creation is to repeal Obamacare." Couldn't have said it better myself If anyone listened, you'll know that he mentioned the FDA and about med devices... Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I was right again.

Of all the places they could hike in the US or Canada and they choose Kurdistan?
Spies don't need to go hiking around to get into Iran. Do they?" I don't recall James Bond ever hiking..

I heard something on the radio or TV this morning, and I hardly ever listen to the radio much less TV.. the speaker was speaking to Christian Amapour, and he said something to the effect "The US has reluctantly accepted stability over democracy and that really hit home.
I just hope the people of Egypt make the right choice from this point. But it seems to the only organization that has anything going for it is the Muslim Brotherhood. Damn!

GW Bush should get what he deserves and the consequences of his policies and decision making should be taken into account when considering he should be shown respect or not. (If respect is what you mean by lack of "civility")."
Ok ok, I'll go with you, but why is the current president who still continuing the war, off scott free with not even the slightest bit of criticism? Much of what happened under Bush is still happening, isn't it?

sushi, don't call me a conservative, I still haven't decided where I fit - ok? put a check list in front of me and I'm all over the board. I really wish everything worked the way you imagined and I really wish I was wrong. You do not support democracy if you are willing to accept an organization like the MB.. Don't tell me if they get power, they'll be willing to hold fair and free elections after the fact. I was only a kid when Iran took place but at least I learned from it.
whenever they feel the urge, blatantly discourage the entire democratic process. Having no real principles has never been so easy" So, I'm not free to change my mind? Are you telling me that you would welcome such a conservative organization like MB being voted in your country? You'd just sit back and say "oh, well, there's the next elections to look forward to"? I doubt that you would. Quit playing games. Oh, what about your support for the very man who is still a dictator and responsible for chasing my mother's family out of said country? Or the other one who's leader for life? Or the other, who squashed a revolt very similar to this one in Egypt, yet you and Obama basically went silent. I came here on Sunday out of respect for you BTW

If Mubarack had been an anti-American/Western leader, he would receive a lot of support here.
That's how it works right? I mean, Sushi and many like him have been very supportive of selected leaders around the world.
"can't have you cake and eat it too".. No, but one can try. The MB is an anti-semitic, anti-west, and unbeliever of democracy.. Sure, they'll use it to gain power, but from that point on..
And if you think Egypt is going to be all hunky dory once they win the elections, which I am sure they will, you've got another thing coming once the masses get a taste of what they're about. Oh, and I've been to their site, its cleaned and shows them as an all welcoming bunch, but to me their no different than David Duke who claims he no longer holds is "old" views and now seeks peace with all...
If you are left, and you are in support of the muslim brother hood you are hereby a real hypocrite as you will be supporting a very very conservative group....
