To each their own, and I have no qualms at all about the adult industry moving 'forward' along with everything else tech offers to do so for, but this is a bit scary:

"Real Touch models will be free to negotiate their own prices for virtual encounters. Money will be split with the company."

What you're going to wind up with is basically people getting pimped for a bit of extra cash while companies do the pimping. If everyone's in agreement, cool, but if people are doing it out of desperation it's not a big step above actual forced prostitution.

"“You can do it over the Internet with your wife, your partner, a live cam model or whoever.”

I'm all for this for the live cam model part, but 'doing it with your wife (not husband?)/partner while actually doing it with a Real Touch model?? Weird.

Anyway, why is the word 'opinion' misused so badly? Telling someone you agree to do something is NOT an opinion. Saying you think something is good or bad, for example, is. Japan has DEFINITELY embarrassed itself yet again in the political arena.

globalwatcher: To be fair, other countries have more than their fair share of bad politicians, and it seems 'democracy' in many nations has ended in deadlock. The US is another example where the two parties simply fight for the sake of fighting, and literally NOTHING is getting done. One side proposes legislation, and the other side blocks it. People become unhappy and vote for the opposition. The newly elected party then introduces legislation (often the same or similar to that which they opposed previously) and the opposition simply opposes it. The only difference I see with Japanese politics is they are ALL exactly the same (at least the ideologies of the parties in the US differ). The DPJ are just LDP rejects, as are all the splinter parties. And they are being replaced at such a quick pace that is VERY sad indeed.

globalwatcher: Tanigaki is a very childish, very selfish fool who can't even ACT like he's looking out for the best interests of the Japanese. When he gets elected after Noda he'll propose the exact same things as Noda did in terms of tax hike, and then the DPJ will instead chime in for his resignation and for an election. They're all the same.

I'm sorry... I had to read this again -- just TOO funny!

"The apparent difference of opinion co-incided with a cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, in which both men kept their jobs."

How did it coincide with the shuffle when the shuffle had nothing to do with them?

“I understand it was Mr Azumi’s view on the current state and outlook (of Japan’s oil imports),”

So it was the decision made by the person with the power to make the decision.... and yet somehow it's now only an 'opinion' and is non-binding? 4-year old kids can lie more convincingly than these stupid twits.

j4p4nFTW: "But Noda doesn't even have half the skills of the worst LDP Prime Ministes"

Not true at all. Noda can read Kanji, right? Aso couldn't. And don't tell me you think Noda is worse than that selfish lout Tanigaki.

tokyokawasaki: "Changing one or two ministers will have no real long term impact."

Nor will it have any real short term impact.

globalwatcher: I don't support totalitarianism at all, but given the way politics have been here and the rate at which politicians change and get nothing done but drive the nation down the toilet, a dictator might actually work.

Oh, and while Hashimoto is good at making solid decisions, the decisions he make do not show an adequate understanding of the public as a whole -- he is yet another rich politician/celebrity whom people like for his flair, but do you know anything about his actual policies??

If they KNOW the number of the caller they should charge them with obstruction in EVERY CASE. If an ambulance or fire engine or police or what have you get dispatched to check it out, and another crime/emergency occurs at that time (by that I mean ACTUAL emergency), they should be charged with a whole lot more. They should also get MASSIVE fines.

Wow... so how long did that take? About 7 hours after announcing they would cut Iranian crude? They may be able to dupe the Japanese public into believing they didn't say, matter of factly, they were going to do something, but the rest of the world undoubtedly noticed the flip-flop. This one even makes Hatoyama look good by comparison!

Barbara Reder: "I am tired of hearing from people through out my life discriminating and attacking the japanese people because what the government is doing."

This is always the defense used by people who simply cannot defend themselves because they KNOW they are in the wrong.

"To Disillusion.. whale eating is part of japanese culture. 貧乏な日本人が生きる食べ物です"

So you admit it has nothing to do with science, then, and their purpose for imposing their values on others and whaling in waters FAR from their own is illegal. As for 'poor Japanese food', show me a dish of whale meat that's cheaper than other foods. That may have been the case after WWII, but not now, that's for sure. What you SHOULD be sick of is hearing a few oyajis talk about 'natsukashii' times when they were forced to eat whale blubber for protein, and the government forcing the overstocked whale meat on kids school lunches when they can't sell it.

The Munya Times: "I am not an expert of chemistry, I think what SSCS uses is harmless stink bomb and in now way equal with any military class tactical weapons that the Japanese fleet uses. Yet, if it is harmful, I would oppose the use of that as well."

Good point. So who are the real 'terrorists' here, then?

kazetsukai: "Obviously the tactics are NOT effective otherwise to actually "save" the whales."

Yes and no. Obviously they cannot save whales that have already be hit by the explosive tipped harpoons in the name of science, but given that in the past (like last year) they cause the whaling fleet to give up short of their quota and go back to THEIR COAST, they DO save some whales, don't they?

    OssanAmerica: "Wrong, as usual".

Rubbish. Any definition you give -- be it 'eco-terrorist' from the US FBI website (and we all know how reliable the FBI is... and unbiased!) or 'cultural imperialism' -- can be equally applied to the whalers. Firing a sonic weapon at a helicopter in flight is not 'defense', nor is throwing stun grenades -- it terrorism by any definition you wish to put out there to define one group but not the other. And the whole cultural imperialism thing -- ha! Boy did you step in it there! Japan is not imposing its culture on others by going far, FAR outside of Japanese waters under the guise of research, WITH Japanese coast guard to 'defend' their crazed intentions? And what does Japan always fall back on when they struggle to talk about how it's actually 'science'? "You are hurting out cultural traditions!", forgetting of course that they pretend they're doing it for science.

It's quite humorous to hear such pathetic defense of what they're doing, really, and even funnier when you point out the contradictions and watch their heads implode.

"Lawmakers from Japan’s ruling party on Wednesday told the United States they would fight against a proposed trans-Pacific free trade pact and warned that the deal was triggering anti-U.S. sentiment."

Triggering such sentiment among whom, pres tel? The only people it would trigger anti-US sentiment against are lawmakers with vested interests, and farmers who have taken advantage of the outdated system and protectionist measures for years.

Show the public the prices that things will be sold at under the TPP as opposed to now and see if there is 'Anti-US Sentiment'. You'll see one of two reactions: 1) they'll be happy to get what they want more cheaply. 2) they'll say they don't care one way or the other and will continue buying jacked up 'made in Japan' because they (incorrectly in many cases) believe it is superior.

The TPP is a chance for Japan to GROW, not lose out. Only people who cannot be competitive and rely on kickbacks or what have you see it as a threat -- it will even increase sales of Japanese goods overseas!

JeremiahW: "One thing is for sure. No one is buyin Hope and Change anymore."

Because the Senate wouldn't allow it. There have been more filibusters during Obama's time in office than all of GWB's combined, no? It doesn't matter WHAT the Democrats propose, the GOP simply says no because the Dems proposed it -- hence, "party of 'no'".

It's a shame Republican politics are simply about mud-slinging and ad hominem attacks and nothing else. I actually respected Gingerich for announcing that he was not going to run a negative campaign, but of course he quickly changed his tune when the blood-thirsty GOP supporters stood behind the others who DID only mud-sling. A 28 minute video attacking a candidate instead of spending the time talking about what you propose and would do for the nation is just sick. Sicker still is that Republicans not only by into it, but seem to love it.

While some lechers might for the idea because the tattoo were grace her backside, if she wanted to make some REAL money off such an auction she should choose a place that's more visible. Some companies actually offer cash to have their logo/name/website address tattooed (temporary and permanent) on body parts and will even pay additional amounts to have the people walk around in public places so it can be seen.

globalwatcher: "smith, I wanna ask you, really. Is there any alternatives in Japan? Is there anyone who can better than Noda?"

No, not at all. My point was merely how superficial the LDP is and that Noda shouldn't kow-tow to them by doing something just to win their approval. It is a sad fact indeed that Japan has ZERO bright options for PM in the near future, and possibly even the distant future.

"TEPCO claims the man’s death was due to an acute myocardial infarction and was not related to exposure to radiation."

Seriously... how is it that TEPCO can always and immediately assess the cause of death and announce it to the media as opposed to the office that conducted the autopsy? And how do we know his death was not the result of complications suffered while being exposed to high levels of radiation? When people who worked there/lived in the area around the plant start developing cancer EN MASSE you're going to hear all sorts of euphemisms and excuses. A guy who dies from throat cancer will be reported to have died, "From pre-existing complications of the throat". A kid who went to school in the fallout zone getting cancer? Sorry -- that's "complications from previous illness".

Anyway, I was not aware that this was the fourth death... I recall the first, but not the other two.
