Koreans, but they seem to have better internet connections than Japan

Not true. Korea only has "more average coverage" per capita of broadband and fiber connections, mostly because of so many living in "mansion" style towers where the entire building is wired up. (and a big government push) However, their fiber speeds are nearly half as capable in speed, bandwidth is slightly less, but most importantly, the stability of the broadband in Korea is severely lacking. Japan's fiber network is super stable and consistent. Interestly however, most Korean ISP's are using fiber and equipment made by NTT Japan.

First, send in AKB48 to hold a 10hr telethon/dance-off/karaoke special to raise awareness. Then send in a bunch of talents and actors to sample dishes and food made in the area. Next, send 4 comedians in to live on the islands "survivor" style requiring them to live off the land, but are allowed microwaves and lighters. Finally, send Exile and SMAP to host a live concert and write songs about the beautiful islands. This will surely win the hearts and minds of the people and make everyone finally believe the islands truly belong to the people of Japan.

jeez.. i've been here too long

To all the fellow passengers on our flight back to Tokyo Saturday... "SORRY!!" but for how much it sucked for you, it sucked for us 100x more!

(our 10 month old twins screamed non-stop for the last 3hrs of the flight, it was the single worst experience we've ever had)

Papigiulio at 12:11 PM JST - 24th September Im suprised noone mentioned Lost In Translation.

Agreed, there are so many little subtlties in the movie that give a hint to what life here is like.

A friend who lived here for 10+yrs told me before I moved here, "They are either totally into something, or not at all interested. There is no in-between." Now after 11yrs, that statement was the most accurate thing I've heard.

Japan needs more western over-the-counter drugs because god knows, their crap (even prescription) is absolutely worthless. They got state-of-the-art robots and 3D LED TV's, then 60's style "medication"!?!? I don't get it.

The idea behind it all is to unify all of your gadgets and link them through one, single “Home Gateway.”

Breaking Bad is so great, love that show. Rubicon is also pretty good it seems. As for comedy, I really enjoy Modern Family, it's got "Al Bundy" in it afterall. (btw, you can download these all from torrent sites like thepiratebay.org or eztv.it)

Yes, the cars get disasembled and put back together on the other end. It's A LOT easier than you think. Only takes a few hours and a couple of guys getting paid a little bit of money. It's FAR FAR cheaper to do it that way than to buy it out right. Also, by "disasembling" the car, it doesn't mean stripping it completely apart. For international shipping of auto's, it only means that it can't "roll" to be called a "junk or parts" car. They remove the wheels (actually the subframe as a whole which takes minutes) and the engine and drivetrain (which takes less than an hour). To "disasemble" a car for Int. transport as "parts" it takes less than 2hrs of work. Shipping it as "parts" gets it through customs much easier and avoids many inspections. I know, I've done it before (legally).

rtega at 03:16 PM JST - 19th August The emphasis in bullying is to much on the school. I teach and I can tell you that as a teacher you don't have much influence on the kids that are bullying.

I've found that public embarrasment of the bully or jokingly bullying the bully to show them how it feels it quite effective. Get the rest of the kids to play along and it puts everyone back on equal terms. The victim usually just needs a lesson in confidence and how to pretend like they are not bothered by what a bully says, which usually makes the bully lose interest.

I do not see how (or like) the bible refference is relevant in this article. Just silly needless quoting. Furthermore, starting the article out with a ficticious quote is a good way to make readers disregard anything written after it.
