lol, the fact that you had to point that out makes it clear to me that most people here have no sense of humour.
I commend this team on their show of gratitude and their good sportsmanship.

wow so much hate and critics in these comments, you guys assume so much from a little crappy picture. They waved to fans as they walked the very long guantlet of people. As it seems they are "looking away" from fans in this picture, what you don't see is the fans on the other side they are looking to. So quick to judge.
They deserve it, they played excellent, they played better than Paraguay, but just choked when it counted. It happens.

I will admit, I simply adore the Harry Potter films, brings me back to those days of wild imagination and I find myself wishing I had a magic wand... to move the cars out of the way on the Shuto.

Why not her? I don't doubt she will do just as "good" of a job at politics as the rest of the "real" politicians.

People that kill themselves don't bother me so much. It's the stupidity of the action that bugs me, but all in all, I see it as an example of "natural selection" or "survival of the fittest". In my opinion, they deserve what they do and that type of person/personality really isn't useful to the rest of human kind anyway.

Most of the new solar systems have a battery cell system and when they are at peak times, they make more than enough power for the battery system and can even put power back INTO the grid decreasing your utility costs. Combining a solar and wind system is a much better solution as you can power 70% of your home (A/C, Heat requires more power) and if you are in a sunny/windy location, you can have ZERO cost electric bills. There are systems in place in Hawaii, Okinawa, Hokkaido, etc.
A good wind system can be bought for around 700,000YEN here. We are putting 2 wind turbines in our future home combined with a Solar system for power and heating. We will also be running 12v appliances and complete 12v lighting (LED).

^^ incorrect
Even on current model fuel injected engines, it is still more efficient to idle for 5-7 min than to turn off and restart the car, plus reheating the catylitic converter. After driving, it is at operating temp. and remains such while idling, thus cleaning the exhaust as much as possible. When turned off, it cools, then has to reheat, all the while the computer management adds more fuel to the mix until it is properly heated. Even in the last 10yrs, engines and engine management have hardly advanced since the mid/late 90's despite what flashy commercials try to sell.
This article is uninformed and more of someones personal pet peeve than anything else.
Trucks idling, yeah that's pretty annoying.

lord, again it seems that the majority of those posting have no idea or concept about the subject. Those rare military individuals who commit crimes (which by JT's own article the figures are less than 1%) they ARE dealt with and punished accordingly. Often, they face double punishment. First by the local Japan authorities, jail, fines, etc, then usually more severe punishments within the Military, usually getting kicked out and/or sent to prison.
Community service? They have been doing this for years.
No drinking AND not allowed to go off the base? lol, think about that for a minute, seriously.
Some of these replies are just hilarious. They (military) are here to insure Japans continued freedom, so is it fair to strip their freedoms just because of a VERY FEW rotten apples?
Why stop at military? Why not all foreigners in Japan? I wouldn't be surprised if the crime stats for civilian foreigners in Japan is higher than military.

haha, it's no where NEAR 1/5 of the island, it would be more like 1/70th. Even right after the end of WWII it wasn't even near 1/5 of the island.
You are obviously unfamiliar with Okinawa, it's history, it's current culture, or how anyone in Okinawa feels.
