cadmium - Might be down to the sheep mentality. Possibly if a famous Japanese person wasn't endorsing the film, a lot of Japanese wouldn't pay attention to it. But if they see some talento/idol/has-been baseball player there, they think "Ah, this must be good!" and go to see it.

Was it that popular? I don't know of anyone that tried it more than once. Those that did said it tasted a bit like a drink from Quickly. As for the customization, how about dropping the jelly from the drink for a more popular beverage?
