Oops, whaler chaps got caught with their hands in other nations' back pockets so instead of cheating they will just leave the game. Good riddance. Now the charade of Japanese duplicity can be buried. Let the boycotts begin. End of the day Japan is unable to sustain it's way of life without the goodwill of it's major western trading partners, this move erodes it all. All to preserve an illegitimate old boys club. Grow up Japan.

If the best of the best won't participate cut it from the Olympics. Simple test of a sport's appeal, will the cream turn up. Personally Baseball is a big yawn fest full of pompous shouting semi-athletes who need to sit down after just a few minutes of standing up.

Guess the developers forgot about "Kanjiflip" which does what they claim to have come up with. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=287049212&mt=8 has the release.

"obstruction of duty" is another translation of the charge that is being used right here at Japan Today. Funny the anti-whalers like spudman are so desperate to use a conveniently ambiguous English translation of a Japanese charge just to suit their arguments. Pretty vacuous!

Just using the official Japanese government line as reported by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Typical Japanese whaling shill tactics to change the story after the lie becomes apparent. This story is getting more and more traction in New Zealand as Murray Maccully gets called out for his lack of gumption.

More media attention being cast on this issue in New Zealand now. Government ministers are being accused of pandering to the Whaling chaps. Prime minister is getting a bit of heat on being a limp wrister where the Japanese are concerned and the Japanese rugby team is going to run out of friendly host towns in 2011 if this farcical case proceeds. They are charging him with obstructing commerce which would not make it research so therefore the Japanese government is lying. Seems like they want to have it both ways.

Jet star service sucks big time, but then you get what you pay for. Complaining about cheap crap when you pay cheap is silly.

attempting to murder the Japanese researchers.

    hyperbole.

Japanese Coast Guard manning the Shonan Maru had specific orders not to be intimidated hence their aggressive tactics. Silly fools couldn't defend there own ship from a jet ski but better not mention that. Egg on the face for Nippon's finest(not).

Met Akebono back in the day when he was on the way up. He acted a bit like a jerk making puns on the word "kaku" to my wife. If he wouldn't have squashed my head I would have told him to kaku himself.
