and daylight saving has no impact on these. In fact getting to work when it's cooler may actually save electricity by having the coolers turned on later

lights getting switched on later must be a way of reducing power consumption.

no it includes law enforcement, it actually is the protection of citizens and the maintenance of order. Heroes would have actually gone ahead and searched the area thoroughly before waiting for it all to calm down, typical cops playing it up for the masses.

They are looking for bodies, saving them from what? Cops get paid to do dangerous jobs, there is little heroism in earning your pay. Volunteers doing stuff like this are heroes, cops are just doing their duty.

No they are doing their job. Heroes rise above and beyond the call of duty.

infanticide is the word you want. Happens in times of severe personal or financial stress. Most countries have examples of this in it's past, Japan too. The old way was to wrap an infant in swaddling cloth them place wet shoji paper on the child's face. Such a sad indication of how desperate times are that in 21st century Japan a young mother resorts to such measures. RIP little baby girl. Your mother will think about you everyday for the rest of her life.

So where are the Japanese good products to match Apple? Sony is almost dead in innovation.Fujitsu and Toshiba also lagging. Japanese electronics are good quality but they lack anything innovative that will lead the world, same in automobiles. Followers not leaders.

Acceptance of the postdam no way meant an end to the war, merely an acceptance of the terms of surrender, not the actual surrender. The popstdam gave the allies the right to take any land outside of the four main islands and Truman agreed that the Kurils would be run by the Soviets.

After the war they were no longer aliies would be my guess. NATO didn't want to give the land to the Russians as that would give them easier access to the Pacific. Truman basically gave Stalin the go ahead to take them and indeed would have lost Hokkaido for the Japanese if not for littleboy and fatman. Truman agreed that the Southern Kurils would fall under the Soviet occupancy so when they were no longer allies of course there was no benefit to the west to acknowledge the Russian claim.
