I want to see this too. Smithinjapan & your reference to Memoirs of a Geisha - it's funny how you poke fun at Japanese people being disappointed that the role of a Japanese woman in historical days was not played by a Japanese actress. a) I can't see how that's relevant to the current topic and b) if (for example) a Non-Maori person played a lead Maori role in a film, I'd be disappointed. Just because Hollywood doesn't care about the accuracy of films with a cultural/historical background, doesn't mean that this is the ideal way to create films or that viewers should have to put up with it.

Hey - Betting there is a Mr Universe, too. Plenty of men in the world also want to be judged on their looks. What is wrong with having a combination of both?

Hah!! I read the quote as they were posing with their children and thought 'wow, even the kids come along to G8 what a family event'. Obviously wrong. The dude on the left forgot to smile.

That's the problem - they only ever get two to pick from. Confuses me how that is the best way to run a democracy.

Oh I'm not ungrateful, who wouldn't appreciate USA visiting to protect their own country - its the visit with different motives which annoys me. And the constant changing between "we are in (insert country) to protect them from themselves" to "we are in (insert country) to protect America".

Cleo - excellent point. In addition, in NZ/Helen Clark's case, if her man didn't accompany her everywhere, would it draw the same comments? I suspect not.

This sort of comment really irks me. If you want to protect America, stay in America and protect it from the inside. The day America visits my country to 'protect America'.....

Nothing wrong with them...hurts noone and is no more frivolous than a lot of other entertainment. Besides, it's nice to see some 'beautiful' woman who don't like like bony heroin addicts (like so many 'models' these days)

“It would mean losing 20% of our business for an energy saving of 4%.” >
This shows exactly what a nonsense idea this is. If they are serious about cutting greenhouse gases, there are so many more sensible options.

Australia doesn't deserve to be in the top 5...as niku mentioned, they have a habit of following USA into unsavoury wars (Iraq). Not to mention things like Cronulla race riots, detention centres for refugees on islands they don't even own and terrible terrible treatment of indigenous people...how could you even expect it to edge out (for example) Jpn or NZ? And I'm not sure why RedMeatKoolAid is so surprised Israel is near the bottom of the list - would you call that place 'peaceful'!? I am surprised East Timor isn't mentioned but I haven't looked at the full list.

It's a joke that approval of a single person's wife even rates in electing a political leader. There is a need for a major haul of the US political system...guess it's never going to happen though

Hey - lots of 82 year olds still have their wits (and coordination) about them! This is why I am all for cycle lanes and/or cycling on the footpaths - and cycle helmets.

These figures are a bit laughable...the Aussies pick NZ, NZ picks Aussie, Asian countries pick their neighbours - this has a lot to do with convenience of visiting somewhere close, the lower cost to visit the big places (like Australia) and that people don't want to go too far out of their cultural comfort zone. I would never recommend AU as a "must see" destination. But then again, I live there...
