WikiLeaks are intersting, insightful and sometimes funny; however, they're also disruptive in terms of candid communication and a deterioration of trust.
The information regarding Libya, Britain and the release of a terrorist, who was responsible for murdering hundreds of PanAm passengers, for economic reasons was quite disturbing. It was suspected at the time of his release, and WikiLeaks confirmed that it was, in fact, true.

In all honesty, SuperLib has a valid point about what the Wikileaks revealed concerning Arab nervousness over a nuclear armed Iran and the possibility now that it could have been just about anybody who gave the order for the hit.

Instead of getting stressed out, have some fun the next time you go through the strict security procedures at the airport. For example you could place your hands behind your head and stick your crotch out as if to say you're looking forward to what's about to happen. Or if they ask you to untuck that shirt, rip it off instead. And the same goes for the pants when they tell you to undo that top trousers button. If you're more verbally inclined, you could try these:
Excuse me, but would you mind going just a little higher, please? Oh, yes! That's the spot!
I refuse to have a member of the same sex frisk me!
Moan gently (or loudly if you prefer) as you're being felt up. A lollipop might come in handy here as well.
If you happen to be with a friend, have him or her record it and put it on Youtube later for laughs and to share with the rest of us.

"They have since left Japan." 'Scurried away' would've been more accurate.
Friggin' army brats! They should've also been punished in some way. Fortunately for them the girl survived albeit with a fractured skull.

If they keep shrinking economy class then they probably won't have any other choice but to get into the cargo freight business for obese passengers. Perhaps a new airline company is needed, something like QOA (Quite Obese Airlines), and there could be a minimum weight (let's say around 100kg) requirement for boarding.

Kan: Barry, why don't we go out now for some live, raw fish, some juicy salmon eggs wrapped in dried seaweed, finished off with some pickled plums?
Obama: Excuse me, but I'd better make a hasty retreat before I repeat making the same mess when Bush Sr. was here.

Twain didn't want the book published until now so it should be insightful to see what kind of critical pokes he takes at anyone or anything.

Some of these newspaper salesmen are pretty creepy. I was home one weekday afternoon when the doorbell rang. My wife answered it and began waving frantically from behind to me while she was talking with the visitor. I came up to the door and there was this 50ish something guy leaning against the door frame with his right arm in those half-tinted glasses, open shirt and a few gold necklaces draped around his neck. When I came to the door, my wife explained to him that we had no interest in the newspaper he was selling because I was a foreigner. After he went away we couldn't help wondering about how many newspapers he was able to sell using that technique on unsuspecting housewives. The guy looked like the kind of low class hoodlum you might encounter at the races, not selling newspapers.

Kids can be really mean, especially when they zero in on somebody. Take the case of Phoebe Prince, the girl from Ireland who hanged herself after vicious bullying in the state of Massachusetts. The bullying in her case took place at school, on the way home from school and through facebook. Another case that comes to mind, but not involving facebook was the gay Rutger's student who killed himself after his intimate time with his partner was broadcast on the Internet.
I'm not sure how the Internet should be regulated as far as the right to privacy is concerned, but the Internet can really make life more of a living hell for these unfortunate kids who have a bull's eye target on them 24/7.
Anyway, it's really sad.

Once on a packed NW flight out of New Orleans, I was in a middle seat, my friend was on the aisle and a drunk looking fellow I didn't know had the window. On the runway everybody was just getting settled into their seats and this guy began to slowly shift about not looking to good. As the flight began to ascend, I noticed he put his hand up to his mouth a couple of times and I was thinking to myself, "Please don't throw up. Please don't throw up." Well, he lost it all over the side of the window, but he was very quiet about it and I was the only one who noticed it. He took out what looked like a towel or t-shirt and began to slowly mop it up. I kind of felt sorry for the guy, but I also wished I was sitting anywhere else on the plane but there. Then the stink began to spread. An elderly couple in front of me raised their noses in the air and began sniffing like "I hope that isn't the in-flight meal." It wasn't funny at the time, but it is now looking back on it.

The Republicans are having a great time piling up on Obama right now, but I'm curious as to what would've happened had McCain been the victor in the 2008 presidential election.
Of course these are just possibilities, but the U.S. might have invaded Iran by now, the U.S. auto industry probably would've vanished and the U.S. unemployment rate would've been much higher, especially after the collapse of the auto industry. These are just a few of the possibilities that come to mind when thinking about the "what ifs" concerning how much worse things might have been if we had a Republican president sitting in the White House today.
I don't completely agree with Obama, but he's not the one who burned down the house, is he? The Republicans had their chance to prove themselves. The Republicans controlled both houses during most of GW Bush's 2 terms as president and what we're looking at now are the miserable results.

One thing I could never understand about the GW Bush and the GOP was how they could give huge tax cuts and launch fairly big military invasions (followed by occupation & nation building) at the same time.
Can you explain that if you're so concerned reducing the size of government?
