Looking at the photo you choose for yourself, I am tempted to write something about business and streetcorners... ;-)
Sure there are many kinds of business that do well without creating buzz. For others, where for example, there's really no difference between your products and those of your competitors, brand is all you've got.

OK, I see now. Quality TV programs, but all have been previously broadcast in Japan, on Fox Japan. LOST, 24, Friends, FlashForward, Desperate Housewives etc.. I've seen them all already. I'll wait until there's a bigger / newer line-up before using up my one month free trial. Maybe in a couple years,...

I've seen all but one of the films mentioned, so that is not enticing.
"hundreds of films" could be anywhere between 200 and 1999. (Anything more would likely be described as thousands). Of that, I wonder if there would be 12 that I haven't already seen, but would want to. One movie a month, and .... old TV shows?
Bluebris, as the only poster who has found Hulu worthwhile so far, could you give any ideas of things you and your colleagues have found to watch? It might be a matter of having been away from US tv for so long that King of the Hill seems fresh and interesting to your friends, while the negative crowd here is looking for something from the past year or two.) I'm somewhat in the middle.

NetNinja, I'd be interested to hear your theory on how METI killed NOVA. Do you go back as far as the first punishments against NOVA for bad business practices in the early 90s? Do you think (like me) that Nova should've been smacked harder from the beginning, rather than having been given so many, many toothless warnings?
Whatever happened with the GEOS bankruptcy? It was in the news for all of two days and I never seem to hear it brought into discussions.

Nobody Knows was really good. I first thought the plot of Kiseki sounded rather maudlin, but knowing that it's by the same guy, give me hope.

Got a notice from Yurekuru and then another one. And waited. Then it started. Gentle but long and rolling. I could here some of squeaking from the interior (non-loadbearing) walls, but some colleagues who were chatting in the hallway hadn't even noticed it. I was in that most sensitive of positions to feel all quakes. (ie: in the smallest cubicle at the office,... never really a good place to be.)
oh, and asagao, don't let the door hit you! Ciao!

Yes, angloo, Post-surgery, gender would be clearly one or the other. This is for pre-surgery or non-surgery situations.
Everyone remember that girl athlete a year or so ago. Maybe 15. Sub-Saharan Africa. She was gender-tested and turned out to be not chromosomally female? I don't remember is she was XYY or something else had happened along the way that had made her an androgynous baby, but by all media follow-up reports, she'd been raised female and was female as far as she knew.
Poor kid!
Shit happens. No need to call anomalies aliens or fahgs and be cruel about it.
Sheesh!

Really? Only if you are that one in a million with a microsoft phone... (I don't know people who carry their xBox around. And PC gamers - stereo-typically at least, are parked on sofas. I can't imagine doing augmented reality games on any sort of MS device.

Keep M & F - if you are equipped with a 'certain item', you're a male - if not, you're a female. Determining somebody's gender is science, not psychology.
Borat, please look up "Intersex". Sometimes individuals are born who are something inbetween. Wikipedia would be a simple start to your education in this field (and a save place to start your research).

Kansai can now have the opportunity to experience the commraderie and community-feeling of suffering together for the benefit of all. It wasn't that hard for most of us in Kanto, and we found we could get by using a lot less than usual.
Hopefully people won't end up poisoning themselves trying to burn kerosene in unventilated apartments, etc..

Good ideas, except, it seems to be too focused on breed. I don't care if the dog is a Heinz 57, if it mauls someone, it's owner should be charged. Any dog can be dangerous - given the wrong environment.
(Chihauahua-sized ones are less-likely to rip an infant from it's mothers arms, of course, but it could still rip a throat out.)

watched by an estimated one billion people around the world.
Really? By who's estimate? What's that? 1 in 7?
That many do probably have televisions these days, but do enough people even live in countries that would be broadcasting this pagent?
