Normally if you are born into a royal family, it is YOU who would the one going around and bully others, not the reverse!

The Iranian people are just fine, its the fundamentalist leaders (and their supporters) that are the problem....that is why Obama wants Iran people do something about it for themselves and that will cost US nothing.

Its OK ,blue fin tuna is not like whale; a female can produce 40 millions eggs ,100 females 4,000 millions eggs and that can turn into 4 billions tuna for you! The world can always have chance to make tuna stock recover if they really want to. And I agree with Australian position, stricter control not total ban bs. Congratulation Japan , but don't forget the problem is still there.

Rural folks (protesters), don't supply food to the city..and that will make those elites think very hard about their attitude, "we know best, BS".

Thanks, OssanAmerica. In Australia ,even abundant with all kinds of foods they still sell shark meat in fish markets at the price of the same level with other cheap fish. I sometimes buy some and cook like normal fish , not great but ok.

They (mainly chinese)should use shark meat as well , not just the fins. If chinese can turn silk worm into tasty food, why can't they do it to shark meat? If the answer is "its all about the cost involved ", I don't want to hear.

Legal government IS the government elected by majority of Thai people through election. If the elected government later turns out to be corrupt ,you have to wait until the next election ,overthrowing him by force is illegal. Thaksin might be corrupt but he had(and still has) the support of rural people and he ran Thai economy well.

Sorry to say this, but my true feeling is :without America, Israel is like a candle in the wind; without Israel ,America is still like an air craft carrier in the calm sea, invincible! Israel should give in to Washington on this.

Just dissolve the current "illegal government" and go back to "election system". If even government obtains power by illegal mean, who will respect the law?

You can not sue Toyota on the basis that these bad news make your toyota vehicle value go down, or make you too afraid to drive one. Because citizen can not sue government for economic policy that makes his/her property value go down...or make him/her too scare to buy real estate again.

It is frightening indeed. After this who could be brave enough to do manufacturing business in US? The profit you accumulate for years through hard work could be easily wiped out by lawyers and lawsuits!

dolphingirl: I only limit my discussion to old traditional japanese family, in which husband's work is his life ,wife stays home looking after home, children, cooking for the family. To be able to keep his job and climb social ladder, the husband need not only work hard, work well but also loyal to his company ,please his boss, compete peacefully with his mates..."drink after work" becomes important part of his job. So now and then, if the husband takes his wife to "the drink" to socialise with other wives ,that will help to give some excitement into her life.
But I do hope J society will change and reduce working hour, obligations for husband , help woman to get job even after marriage and having children.

dolphingirl: J men always love to enjoy " drink after work", if they take their wives with them now and then (depend on circumstances of course), they can enjoy socialising with each other. That idea originated from living experiences with Japanese families before and after watching quite a few J dramas. Even when J wives tell their husbands "omae nanka ,shine!" ,they don't REALLY mean it.

I think if J husbands take their wives to company parties or "drink after work" often , their marriages could be much happier and their wives may not wish for husbands deaths that much anymore. Wives are people ,they need fun ,joy ,good times as well, not just being stuck at home and houseworks.

Commercial whaling, good idea.
First Japan will prove to IWC that the country can manage sustainable whaling within its own water while allow whales population elsewhere to increase.
Then when there are too many whales in the ocean, IWC will permit whaling nations, Japan included,to harvest them under IWC leadership. This may sound good but realistically, if human population keeps increasing, the demand for sea food will increase as well; so it will be less and less food for whales and will make it hard for them to multiply.
