Myself and my relatives, altogether we have about 11 Toyota vehicles, from corrolla, camry,to land cruiser, lexus and after years and years with millions kms travelling we NEVER had any accident of the same sort. All of the cars were fully imported from Japan, except the 1 corrolla,1 camry(Australia).I read the article and wonder about whats going on with Toyota management these days? Maybe they should just manufacture completely driving system themselves.Reputation like Toyota needs generations to build but can be wiped out in just a few years.

How come Japanese official cash rate is 0.1% and this man got a loan with merciless interest rate of 7.9% but he is supposed to be thankful and very lucky?! Yes I agree with others that Japanese people need to change their way of thinking :no money, no "honor' is more precious than life itself.

It just proves that China is not confident enough to give its people Wetern style freedom of speech for FEAR of losing its wealth and power. At least the party thinks that current system is working well for China: strict on law and order with severe punishments, maintaining the party's right -to -govern, choosing and picking all good fruits from the West while leaving rubbish behind...until the day when no more good fruits to be picked, disasters will start. At that time chinese leaders will regret for not allowing freedom of speech, which can act as a pressure valve, to its people.

You drive such a car people will have a weird look (not admiration) at you; you park that car anywhere unguarded, you will lose some stones everytime and also other road users may lose their concentration on driving and crash into you. Such a car is only best in showroom for looking.

Tons and tons of food, raw food and water and cooking fuel like coal(proper pakaging is not that important) need to be dumped on the ground here and there to stabilise the situation first before troops and/or aid workers move in.

grafton ,excellent post...but *not buying *China made product is NOT possible anymore. For example Australia is a country with abundant food supply, much more than anyone coud ever eat; but when I went to a major super market the other day and was looking for canned smoked oysters..and guess what ? Of the five famous brands available for the said products, they ALL are product of China! Market is simply FLOODED with chinese produtcs,no or very litlle other choice.

    • Toyota can keep the car* ..a Toyota? where is that tree circles symbol? There must be something special about this car's wheel and brake that the manufacturer needs three models in black and red ,either red boot or red glove or red hat to complete the picture :-).

    The buck stops with me:

*Good: when people learn from their mistakes and improve, as expected.

*Bad :no one takes any responsibility anymore, unintended but possible.

...all depend on final result, time will tell.
