@Clemente: The language of Iran is Farsi, not Iranian. Darvish's parents speak english, in fact they met while attending college in St. Petersburg, Florida. His Iranian-born father even attended high school in Massachusetts. Darvish has been quoted as saying english was spoken in his home growing up. I suspect he can speak the language well enough he is just a bit shy about using it, a detail he will get over very quickly.

Agree with BurakuminDes, Even in the most extreme cases in the States, you have to have your property fenced, gated, locked and posted to keep people from entering your property uninvited and then you can't just open fire Legally. You might want to tell your kids to tell their friends not to just walk into the house, don't shoot them if they do......it's not legal. You also might want to close and lock your doors and post signs like "Keep out" or "Do not enter, Knock".

@Namabiru4me; What the hell does this have to do with America vs Japan? When I was a kid there was many a time when an errant ball went into a neighbor's yard. If someone was in sight we would yell "hey mister, can we have our ball back?" if not we just jumped the fence and retreived the ball. We got a lot of "you kid stay out of my yard!" but no one ever got shot or kicked in the nose. Sometimes we lost the eat of our pants to a dog but that's about as violent as it got. If the errant ball happened to break a window..........scatter!

Japan owns so many "guiness world records". Although I believe this dog was in fact very old, the guiness record means nothing to me. you have to contact the Guiness people and apply for records which most people never bother with.

@oglob: Actually the japanese embassy staff was having a farewell party for one of their staff. The message was not a declaration of war but a breaking off of diplomatic relations and the Ambassador, not being a professional, re-typed the message many times before delivering it.....thus arriving after the actual attack.

Everybody "Knew" that a Japanese attack was highly likely but nobody knew exactly where it was going to be. On the day Pearl was bombed the navy sent messages to Pearl, Panama and the Philippines putting them on high alert. The mnessages to Panama and the Philipines were sent by radio but Pearl could not be contacted so the message to Pearl was sent by Western Union and did not arrive until after the attack.

We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country
Al Gore, Former Clinton Vice-President Speech to San Francisco Commonwealth Club September 23, 2002
There are strong indications that Iraq produced more anthrax than it declared, and that at least some of this was retained after the declared destruction date. It might still exist. Either it should be found and be destroyed under UNMOVIC supervision or else convincing evidence should be produced to show that it was, indeed, destroyed in 1991.
Dr. Hans Blix, Chief UN Weapons Inspector Addressing the UN Security Council January 27, 2003
The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retained some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capability
Robert C. Byrd Former Ku Klux Klan recruiter, currently a US Senator (Democrat, West Virginia) Addressing the US Senate October 3, 2002
People can quarrel with whether we should have more troops in Afghanistan or internationalize Iraq or whatever, but it is incontestable that on the day I left office, there were unaccounted for stocks of biological and chemical weapons."
Former President Clinton During an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live" July 22, 2003

Al Qaida et al are not signatures to any convention and flaunt all human concepts of decency by inflicting mass civilian casualties in non-conflict areas. If one does not oneself respect international conventions, then one should not expect to be protected by such. If there is such a thing as exceptions to any rule then obtaining information from terrorists to prevent more mass murder should be one of them in my opinion.

.Sure he did. If you go with the intention of losing out of fear that your team is going to be abducted, why go at all? Just cancel the match out of security concerns and let it go at that. This "we let them win" crap just won't fly.
