Mr. Pesak appears to know something about Japanese public opinion. Most of the American Journalists and commentators were making inane statements along the line of "it's a blow to Japan to lose the Finance Minister during the economic crisis".
Hello?!? He wasn't up to the job in the first place!! If you ask me, Japan dodged a bullet by getting rid of this guy.
A friend in Japan suspects that Nakagawa's people allowed him go on stage like that, perhaps because they got sick of constantly cleaning up his messes. If you ask me, Japan dodged a bullet in getting rid of this guy.
I HOPE he goes to AA and gets off the sauce.
Posted in: The public’s anger isn’t about some red-faced man slurring his words and having difficulty fielding questions. It’s that Taro Aso’s government isn’t up to the challenge of running Asia’s biggest economy. It also reflects Japan’s revolving-door politics; the next finance chief will be the fifth in two years.

You're not safe anywhere! Eventually your fate is going to be in someone else's hands, whether it be an errant driver or a surgeon or on an airplane. People are only human and there are going to be mistakes, great and small. If you luck out, Sully Sullenberger is the pilot. If you're unlucky, it's someone on the rear-end of a double shift suffering from low blood sugar.

We here in the states need to realize that these people pouring over the borders aren't merely "illegal aliens", they're 'refugees' from the lawlessness in northern Mexico. The Mexican government is NOT serious about doing anything about it, and it is more than likely that drug-tainted corruption reaches as high as it can go.

Saw him at the Chicago Stadium in '79. Great show! Muddy Waters opened, Clapton jammed a bit with Muddy's band.. Clapton did two sets, including Albert Lee singing "Country Boy".. then Muddy, Johnny Winter, Pinetop Perkins and Willie Dixon all came out to jam. INCREDIBLE.

Update that, it turns out there's a Japanese Production: "Nihon no Schindler Chiune Sugihara Monogatari". "John Rabe" and "Chiune Sugihara".. should be a great way to get the message across.

Put it on a double bill with the WGBH documentary about Chiune Sugihara (Japanese diplomat who saved Jews from the holocaust).. that might make it a lot easier for some folks to swallow.
