Xe.. oh yeah, that's MUCH less "warcrime-y".
What is Xe going to teach? Is the 'school of the americans' going to outsource torture lessons? "How to shoot up a crowd of people just 'cuz they're there"? Hey, how about "Creating new terrorists by angering the locals, 101"..

Wouldn't it be more honest (and equally appalling) to slash salaries, rather than demand those salaries return in a falsely-inflated balloon of orders?

So... A-Roid admits using a performance-enhancing banned substance which directly effected his ability to play the game, and he's probably going to get away with it.. and Michael Phelps uses a banned substance which had nothing to do with his sport nor his performance in it, and he's in trouble?
Roids = Cheating. Period.

Actually, I just read an Aussie newspaper that said there could be upwards of 300 dead. About 100 people are unaccounted for in a town called Marysville. That's just one town out of dozens. What a terrible situation.

Lol, tax cuts for the rich never created a job.
On the other hand, a government program to build a road subcontracts construction companies, who hire workers, who get paid, who spend that money at the grocery store and paying off their debts (et cetera et cetera), and those businesses take the money to the bank which lends it out to other businesses to buy supplies.. not to mention the positive societal effects of more people working. Yeah, let's give the wealthy more tax cuts. LOL.

This thing mustn't have been too good, was it even in wide-release in the U.S. before getting dumped on the overseas markets?
Well, it could be because one is "the beast" and the other is WILL FRICKIN SMITH and race was not a factor.

Climate Change is a factor, because Victoria is in at least the second year of a terrible drought. Global warming doesn't just mean a general warming of the earth's median temperatures, it means weather patterns are disrupted and changed. However, Victoria law enforcement is actively looking for arsonists who took drought advantage of conditions, whatever-their-cause. Just because it's dry doesn't mean that the area is going to burn.
This is a human tragedy on a scale larger than Australia has ever dealt with. Attempts on both sides to politicize it are crass and vulgar, especially from those who aren't even Australian and are trying to superimpose American politics onto the deaths.

Love it. Doing nothing, as the republicans want to do, is a proven failure. And this is the only option on the table. Hopefully it will be passed tomorrow, but it'd be just like Harry Reid to screw that up.
I just love that the republicans held last year's convention in Saint Paul, the city where the bridge collapsed into the river killing 13 people and injuring 145.. and this week they tried to strip the infrastructure spending out of the stimulus bill. Yeah, that's 'in touch'.
A tax cut never created a job. But a government program to rebuild highways, bridges, the grid, to hire cops and teachers and firefighters.. those are JOBS, like it or not.

If the waiter touches his earlobe, that's the signal for "try the chicken". If he taps his right index finger to his left wrist, that means "special on sweet potato fries today" If he scratches his pants, don't eat anything he brings to the table.

Sorry for the double-post, but.. AH HA. A Reuters report says Kellogg's earnings are slightly up but the company is expecting a rocky 2009 because of the dollar. Maybe Phelps could have held on, in a better economic climate.
