All I know about Anime is on "Adult Swim". The newer ones seem to be horribly repetitious with recycled characters. I'm waiting for new "Ghost in the Shell". Probably gonna be waiting a long time......

A wee mistake in the Metropolis copy: "You Natzy Spy!" was released in early 1940 (not in 1941), months before Chaplin's masterpiece "The Great Dictator". The sequel short to "You Natzy Spy!" was "I'll Never Heil Again" which was released in 1941, still preceding America's entry into WW2.

Hworta, that's potentially libelous. Post your proof. Please explain what illegal conduct occurred at CNN, CBS or MSNBC and how it can be traced to any CEOs.
Murdoch's crime is not supporting conservatives, newspapers have been doing that for a couple hundred years. But, Murdoch's wild-eyed, reactionary conservatives couldn't hold a candle to the principled William F. Buckley. Murdoch's worst offense, though, is the coarsening of everything he touches. Newspapers suffered, TV networks suffered, politics suffered. Everything became more base, more vulgar as his troops sleazed it up to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and I mean the lowest.

Really? The spewing radiation from the unprecedented nuclear disaster up the coast that will take decades to contain and repair has nothing to do with it? Of course.

I remember this clearly, when the U.S. attempted to usher it in during the mid-1970s. It was the earliest anti-European jingoism that I can remember. It was all about laughing at the French. I don't know why America has a problem with France, which basically helped win the Revolutionary War for the U.S. But the stereotypes of the French at the time were of the Snooty Waiter and the Arrogant Guy with the Loaf of Bread and Beret and Stripes Shirt. Failing to know things cripples Americans who can't do business abroad. Anti-French silliness has gone as far as Americans considering France a Socialist enemy, egged on by pundits who regularly vacation in France.
BTW, for those who remember, SNL did a funny sketch on anti-Metric hysteria in 1976 (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/75/75rdecabet.phtml, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRtyBBiyYhI).

Agree with "cjsavoie". The Chernobyl disaster happened on the soil of our "enemies", the commies, the USSR. America and the rest of the west had a romp in the park pointing out how inferior Soviet technology was back then. But with Fukushima, the truth is being revealed drip by drip, allowing the News Cycles to dry up, allowing people to lose interest. My opinion is that Fukushima is worse, especially since the ocean contamination is not being taken seriously and there hasn't been a serious effort to measure contamination levels in Japan. We find out about Tea when it shows up in France, glowing in the dark. When the cancer cases begin in a few years, we'll know. (;_;)

DE-regulating the energy sector? Really? The power companies should be even less accountable?
Posted in: The government faces calls to use the disaster as a catalyst for long-delayed reforms, such as raising taxes, liberalizing trade, deregulating the energy sector and modernizing the archaic farming and fishing industries. But all of these steps face pockets of vocal opposition from politically powerful interest groups.

Well, why is there a lack of storage space? Is it because there are too many donating items, or because there is a backlog in distributing these items to those who need them?

Decentralizing government functions is a great idea for an earthquake-prone nation. But why wouldn't Osaka or any other Japanese city be just as at-risk as Tokyo?

Yes, Wind and Solar can and will "make a dent" as soon as we decide they will. Germany is shutting down nukes and revving up more and more Solar. Peppered through the western and inter-mountain U.S., there are plenty of "off the grid" homes. It's not that it "can" be done, it "IS" being done. Period. There's no other side of the story, it works and it's a proven success.. should we choose to acknowledge it. Solar+Wind+Battery Management System=Self Reliance.
But what about Thorium Molten Salt reactors? They don't melt down and the Thorium Fuel is way safer and more plentiful than Uranium or Plutonium. Texas, China and India already have this technology. It seems the only drawback is that you can't use them to create weapons.

so.. the country that has to have "women-only" rail cars because of the prevalence of immature man-boys who can't keep their hands to themselves now wishes to start up rail cars that dress up real women as cutesy maids... nah, I can't finish it.
