"Liberals" like to say Clinton was our first black president. (I still don't quite understand - or care - what they meant by that...) But I reckon if that was the case well then Obama must be signaling the identity politics crowd that he is ready to be our first gay president.

susisake asks:
Yabits is American. Of that I am almost certain. Nothing rings false in his posts, unlike those of sezwho or BeaverCleaver. But like I said his Ameri-centric worldview is embarrassing to me, a fellow American. Like many American "Liberals" he doesn't believe in American exceptionalism, but like many "Liberals" he is unaware he promotes a kind of inverse form of it. What I mean is that when people like him say Iran seeks nukes cuz Bush called it part of an axis of evil or that Bush mentioned "crusade" in a speech and this just like, totally - hello! - inflamed the entire Mohammedan world!,man, the melodrama and the exaggeration and hyperbole is proof that people like him believe the world beyond US borders hangs on the every word of our presidents, Fox News analysts, televangelists etc.
They don't.

Yabits' Ameri-centric world view is so embarrassing. It is amazing how American and European "Liberals" and progressives believe Saddam Hussein - like all world leaders - apparently had no free will of his own and could only react to or pervert American foreign policy.

If "liberals" are so high-minded and free of malice why do bigtime Lefty blogs like HuffPo have to disable comments when the thread is about Cheney's heart trouble or Palin's special needs child?

They could. And The Porkulus anti-stimulus package Democrats rammed through last February made provisions I think (no one really knows what was in the bill...) for such a line but it's a little game "liberals" like to play with hard-working,productive Americans. The eco-nazi wing of the Dem party is going to find a wittle mouse or a pwitty butterfly whose natural habitat is endangered and the billions earmarked for transit will become - shocka! - lawyer relief. They'll kick some of it back to the Dems, pocket the rest and try and blame "Big Oil."

The bombing will go on for years - as it has in Algeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Philippines, S Thailand, Nigeria, Somalia, "Palestine", Lebanon and the many other fronts in militant Islam's War on Civilization.

Tax cheat Franken follows the crook Roland Burris, who we now know tried to buy Obama's Illinois seat. Yes, Dems can be proud that these 2 join the likes of Teddy "Amphibious Oldsmobile" Kennedy and the racist Klansman and former Grand Kleagle (KKK recruiter) Robert Byrd in the US Senate. Throw in Chris "CountryWide" Dodd, Chucky "Let's Sink Another Bank Today" Schumer and Barney Frank (lover ran a gay prostitution service out of Frank's DC condo) and I can see why "liberals" are excited about having a majority:the crooks don't need to learn how to be taught the cut throat,end-justifies-the means style of politics of the Chicago Way that came with Obama to our nation's capital.
