What cleo is describing sounds like a lot of the old LDP construction projects. LOL. I am always amazed at how much Japan loves insects. Growing up in the US, I didn't love or hate insects, but I couldn't imagine having insects as pets. Ant farms I had seen, and thought they were pretty cool, but raising beetles, no thanks. I'd rather have a dog. My wife once asked me several years ago about what I thought about Jean Henri Fabre, and I had to admit I didn't know who he was. She was shocked, me being a foreigner and all. I think every kid in Japan knows who Fabre is.

The main keep of Kumamoto Castle is a concrete reconstruction built in 1960. Some of the outer buildings are original though. I just love the architecture of the castles.

I agree, without including the iPhone numbers, you're leaving out a lot of people. But hey, where's the Zune? Oh yeah, Renton stopped making them, choosing to focus on the Zune HD. I asked a J friend if he knew about the Zune, and he had never heard of it.

NeoJamal, Ric O'Barry no longer captures and trains dolphins for entertainment or films, as the article states, he stopped in 1970. "He has devoted his recent years to helping return dolphins in captivity to the wild and to stopping the killing at Taiji."

The problem of killing and eating dolphins or whales is really a cultural difference.

I think a bigger reason for stopping this is the safety of dolphin and whale meat. The amount of mercury and other chemicals is a real safety hazard for anyone who eats it. According to a previous article, maybe not on this homepage, Mr. O'Barry showed the test results of dolphin meat he purchased in the supermarket to Taiji officials, who then tested some meat themselves. They got similar results, high mercury content, and according to that article, removed dolphin meat from the school lunch menus.

I'm sure this thought-provoking film will be interesting to watch, though the killing scenes are probably going to be tough to sit through.

I agree with DarkKnightNine. Next thing you know they'll be reporting that the reason he was hiding from the police was because his wife is dead.

Watched "King's Brunch" with Denzel as a guest. Seems like a real nice guy. The movie was referred to as in Japanese SABUWEI HYAKUNIJUSAN, or Subway 123. Not sure if it was a mistake and should have been Subway 1 2 3 or not. Looks entertaining. I will probably watch the original and then watch this new one.

I guess they could make life difficult for some, but my father and I actually find the mysterious "cultural differences" are what make international marriages interesting. Sounds like the movie will be fun, if done correctly.

I wonder how many people drove by the poor tykes. Kudos to the driver.

Hope everything works out for the better. Hokkaido doesn't need to lose more jobs. Sounds like better management is needed. Good luck Mr. Tanaka.

Yeah, when are they going to get businessmen snacks! If some of them were chewing on these, maybe there would be fresher air on the trains!

These sound great, though I am always nervous about buying integrated products, 'cause if one component breaks, sending it in for repairs means being without the other components. The thing that gets me is the price of the stands. I am interested in getting just a simple stand, no shelves or anything. I've seen them for 50-120 thousand yen. Unbelievable!

Incredible performance! If Marvel wants to make a Flash movie, Bolt is your man! Amazing! Will he be able to keep this up for the next Olympics? Hope so. This time the Bolt-haters can't say that he was taking it easy at the end.

On another note, I loved this sentence in the article: " From Lane 5, he gobbled up all the opposition by the end of the curve, and then let those huge arms and legs loose in a whirl of unmatched speed." Just kinda sounds funny.

Man, oh man. Amazing feat by all of the 100m medal winners, and especially Bolt. I chuckled a little at Tyson Gay's comment that his groin was hanging on. Must have been a slip of the lip. Exciting stuff! Can't wait for the 200m.

I hope that she and her son are found safe, but I still fear that double suicide is a possibility. This is Japan, and unfortunately suicide in cases like this have know to have occurred. I don't think they did commit suicide, but it is a possibility. Hopefully she and her son are just holed-up in the mountains with a relative, to keep out of the media circus.

Since when does your style of dress make you a homo? ChrisBiggins, you were probably stared at because you were a foreigner and you dressed loudly. You should try dressing in a suit and going to a small town. You would still get your fair share of stares from people, simply because you are a foreigner.

BTW Have people ever heard the words homodachi or oshiriai to describe homosexual friends or partners? Just curious.

Not an experiment I really wanted to hear about. Wonder what they'll find in his space pampers. Sure, they may be odor free, but what kind of little beasties may be lurking in them....

Keep in mind, this is the second time BK has tried to make it in Japan. I ate a Whopper at the Hiroshima BK several years ago, then the entire chain vanished. I wish they'd open a BK in Hiroshima again, so I could try an Angry Burger. Though we do have God Burger here... By the way, a Krispy Kreme branch would be nice too.
