it took japan only 48 years after the end of WWII to issue an apology. maybe it will take another 48 years for koreans to accept an apology. meanwhile, japan will just have to keep apologizing, not that it would help much. koreans know that whatever apology that are coming from japan is insincere and half-hearted at best. it seems inevitable that another war in Asia is looming upon us. the US will secretly be doing LMAO as their defense industry will thrive with the huge purchase orders coming from both japan and korea.

@shinjuku no yaju -
the problem is that they apologize, repeatedly in countless times, and then in the end, they claim something that negates everything they said previously, effectively nullifying the apology. it's like saying, "i'm sorry i raped you" thousand times, and then in the end, "by the way, it was not a rape"...
and the japanese wonder why koreans are still fuming over the apology when it was made thousand times already

if they love dokdo so much and feeling patriotic all the time, they should just volunteer for the service in the Korean navy, which is pretty easy thing to do as a korean male.

why don't the japanese self-defense force take action on the south korea's unprovoked attack on the japanese sovereign territory? it would send a clearer message to those pesky south koreans than the bi-annual ritual of chest-thumping at yasukuni

i think japanese players sort of gave up the game especially on the second half 'till the last 5 minutes or so. it was pretty uninteresting to watch.

@wakarimasen - i disagree. Seoul, especially president Lee is secretly rejoicing that Japan is taking the reaction that it is taking. With the ruling party in the bribery scandal that's still developing, Lee needs something that can divert public attention from himself and the ruling party. it's almost like he's got TWO free get-out-of-jail cards - one from japan and the other from north korea. in any case, it's a political move from the korean side and the response it garners from japan seems to be of the same nature.

@nigelboy - you said, " i don't think Japan sacrificed anything if you consider..." i disagree. koreans still have a certain degree of animosity (to put it mildly) toward the japanese from the colonial era. insisting dokdo doesn't help that feeling go away. one example is the recent attempt at the intelligence-sharing treaty between japanese and korean military that didn't come to fruition because of the bad press. with the threat from China looming and increasing every day, japan is in need of a friend. korea carries some weight and can be a good ally in some situations. by insisting that tiny rock in the middle of nowhere, japan SACRIFICES that possibility.
you seem to think that putting some empty words in some WHITE book does not cost Japan anything. I think otherwise - it costs Japan much more than you seem to regard...

japan can have dokdo/takeshima as far as i'm concerned. but it puzzles me that japan would sacrifice so much good will of korean people over something that amounts so very little to japan or anybody really. the powers that be in korea is secretly laughing...
