Guys....I hate TEPCO and the way the govt has been handling this more than anyone else here, but some of the reactions are a bit overboard. I agree that all rice exports from Fukushima should be halted, for at least this years crop and possibly next years. But there are some things grown here in Fukushima (I live here) that are still totally safe.
One of my students has a cattle farm here, she imports the hay and all other consumables for the cows from the Kanto and Kyushu area. Her cows were tested and came back perfectly clean. But due to the blanket ban on meat from Fukushima, her business suffered a lot.
What sucks the most is that a lot of Fukushima people are suffering unnecessarily because of the incompetence of the J Govt and the fear mongering of the media and other freaked out members of the public...

j4p4nFTW: majority of people feel that this Nuclear accident could have been avoided. At first I didnt blame TEPCO for what happened. But now that a lot more information is coming to light, such as they knew their safety measures were inadequate etc, I blame TEPCO for not doing everything possible (not asking for the impossible) to prevent such a situation. The fact is TEPCO didnt prepare or do everything they could have. Hence why imo they should be held accountable. But, like you said, a court of law would be necessary to prove that they have to pay compensation.
And if that were to happen, things would get very ugly very quickly here in Fukushima....

Is it really necessary to point this out? Its like saying "hey this bad stuff happens all the time in the US but rarely here!". Whats the point of it? To try and shift the focus on to the US? To show that Japan is still better? Totally unnecessary information imo

Of course the teacher is totally in the wrong here but,
Where does a 15 year old girl get the idea of looking for a sex partner on a website?
When I was 15, I was interested in adult magazines and some adult websites, but a match-making site? That thought had never crossed my mind...

My point was that everyone has different views about everything. Some people like yourself believe its a disgusting thing, while others believe its not that bad, depending on the situation. Everyone is different, you should respect everyones opinion and accept that we are all different.
I personally wouldnt go to a brothel, but if I had a long distance relationship, got a bit lonely, I would go to a place like that after a few years most likely. Do I love my partner less? No. If I started a relationship with another girl then thats cheating in my opinon. Sometimes we just gotta let out that stress. Again, all depends on your opinion. Please refrain from bashing peoples opinions, same goes for everyone else who has been bashing yours.

A man with a family who goes to a prostitute deserves to lose the house his marriage and and at least half his income.
You serious?
Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world. Just because your outlook on sex is totally different from other people, doesn't make paying for sex wrong.

Any word on the seatbelts??? Come on, this is the most important part of the story, yet it hasn't been reported????
I see so many kids in Koriyama here riding in the front seat of the car with no seatbelt, jumping around playing....And the sad thing is, the only way the parents will learn is if a tragic accident were to happen...

Guys, please be careful of Jetstar, I've flown with their Aussie branch many times, for the sole reason of it being very cheap. BUT, with low cost, comes ZERO customer service and lots of changes in your itinerary. I always book a direct flight from Tokyo to Aus, only to have it changed to a stopover or 2 a few weeks before leaving....

Here is a good link with lots of information including which products have been banned or restricted for consumption (you might have to scroll down a bit). It also has information about local radiation levels in Fukushima. I check this site every day: http://www.worldvillage.org/fia/kinkyu_english.php

Umm alot of stuff. When you go to the supermarket, dont just buy the cheapest thing. Check the area it is from. I live here in Fukushima city and have only been buying meat from outside of Japan, and vegetables from Kyushuu. Sure my shopping takes a little bit longer and sometimes I cant everything that I want, but its better than complaining about having NO SAFE FOOD when thats just an exaggeration....leave the country if you feel so

I love their 'never give up' attitude. They are a real inspiration to the people of Japan. Not because they won a world cup, but because they never gave up once, always coming back even tho the odds were against them. Now that is something to be proud of.
