I say general population at San Quentin, or any other extreme maximum security facility in the US. He'll "feel" the pain of all those poor children.

I say the US should use the coast of Somalia as a training ground for the SF and SEALS. They attack a ship, and they get what the deserve. Dead thieves are good thieves. As the bodies pile up, they'll start thinking, "maybe this isn't a good idea".

So you confirmed my first assumption. The surname is not of the Ryukyu people. And formal annexation was in 1869 I believe. Plus a lot of Chinese settled here in those times. We'll agree to disagree.
The Consular General is very frank, and those that do not like him are incensed with the way he says things. Yes, the military spin is not a help, but it comes with the job description. There wasn't this much mistrust with the last guy.
And the money, well, I have a hard time believing the US only contributes 5% to the economy. I guess between rent, conspicuous spending, base employment, and construction does not add up to more than 5%? So, how much do the North Koreans contribute (the ones who own the pachinko places)? You won't find that stat anywhere.

A few things:
The guy who did this, is not Okinawan. His surname is from mainland. So, like the protesters, is from Honshu, not Okinawa.
Okinawans kind of don't like the Consular General because he speaks very frankly, and in good Japanese. So they automatically associate this with being extremely pro Japan.
Oh, and before complaining about how much land the US has, you'll have to ask the Japanese Government about that.

Neverknow2: So America is doing what? Um, no. How about stating some fact instead of hatred. As far as NK, well, Kim Jung Mentally Ill may try to launch something. The Us will track and destroy it before it does any damage.

If you have sat in a Chrysler recently, you would know why they are doomed:
1: They are now to the point of giving away cars if you buy one at MSRP (in FLA, there was an advertisement for a free PT Cruiser if you bought a new Ram pick-up). they are doing this just to unload the vehicles.
2: The interiors are sinful. I was recently in a Sebring in Hawaii. The dash was a single piece of plastic that spanned the whole front. No gaps, but just a huge chunk of plastic. The door was the same thing. And the HVAC controlls are the same for all of their cars.
3: The styling of their cars is abysmal. Look at the exterior of everything they have, except for the 300C (and that is starting to look a bit dated). The new minivans look like bricks. Granted, they are competent, but Toyota, Nissan, and Honda make much better products.

Could you clarify your statement above? Sounds a bit odd to me. If you believe this, you're similar to the perp.
And the only place for this guy is in a nice rough max security prison. Once the inmates find out what he did, its over.

On the local news, the girl stated to police she came home and found the mother's body. She panicked and hid it. Then left with the made up story about being at a relatives house.
Also, the hotel was a "love hotel". There were pictures of the "no one under 18 sign", along with the individual parking stalls.
This just doesn't smell right, and I live in Kitanakagusuku. this is a very peaceful town. The last crime here was about 2 years ago where someone's house was robbed a few doors down from where I live. They caught the perp, but still it makes me want to keep an extra eye out for people that don't belong.

So if this is a disaster waiting to happen, then the nuclear plants in Japan are a disaster that is happening.
Before any of these non-nuke people throw stones, they need to look in their own backyard and assess their own safety first.

HelloKitty:
Well, the issue is getting the correct sounds. Now before you say that there are English sounds that are not native, let me tell you about learning a different language. German.
When I learned German, there were plenty of sounds that were not native. Like the city Munich. Phonetically, you say Meun-chen, with the eu sound getting emphasis, as it is spelled with an umlau (the two dots over the u vowel). In Japanese, they will use Katakana and say Mu-hen. That is not correct. It's a bastardized way of teaching.
You want to learn English, hire a Brit. American English? Hire an American. German? Deutch (not Doi-tsu, as the Japanese pronounce it). If my dumb@$$ can learn alittle German, then Japanese could at least learn how to pronounce things correctly.
Okitokidoki
Like the TV commercial I see here in Okinawa. There's a young woman, obviously the teacher. She is singing to her kids in "Engrish" for the class called ABC Junior, but what does she say?
A B Shi Ju-ni-ah.......
Ruv-ry.

Teaching Katakana as the way to pronounce anything non Japanese. Try learning the language as its used.

So they met through an online gaming site? Hmmm, is this a euphemism for a dating site?
What is left out was the intent the girl had. Obviously, girls that age want to feel grown up, and going out with a college guy would be something to "show the friends". But did she also misrepresent her age? That is not given, so before we call this guy a total perv or creep, more information needs to come out.
If he said he was a college dude, and he's only 27, then he lied about 4 to 5 years of age? Not terrible. If he was just trying to meet girls, and this girl represented herself as being 18, then this story would make sense. Once he found out how old she was, he freaked out and dumped her. She was upset and knew he would go to jail for this. So she told her parents.
But in the end a 27 year old did a 14 year old. He's toast.

Another to agree with Fusedentropy: If two consenting adults want to have children, they are basically forsaking their single lives to be parents. It's really not optional. It's a requirement.
There are some people who just don't understand this. Now, this young girl (23) made this kid with an extremely older man (14 years counts as extremely), so I'm sure thee was pressure by both of them to basically not be a parent, and live normal "single" lives. And this probably pushed her to the boiling point after repeated abuse.
It would have been better for the child if they would have drive to the baby hatch, and left a note. Poor kid.

What gets me is the typical J-court disparity in the sentence. Mom gets half the sentence. Why?
And the 15 year old is living where? And has to pay for her phone how? Hmmm
