The funny thing is she could have strung him along saying she was 18. Now before people start gasping, "oh, you can tell the difference", well, if you live here, quite a bit of the time, you can't. So that could be the case.

He wanted some young stuff, and was trolling the sites for it. And got it.
Either way, he should be locked up for a while. And anyone who would think the girl really had no idea of what she was doing is ignorant at best. Those Louis Vitton handbags are very expensive.

I saw a small Mitsubishi wagon here, and there were about 5 kids under the age of 7 inside. Only one was in a car seat. The others were free roaming, and one even put her whole head out the window.
Japan really does nothing when it comes to seat belt use. It's the law, but there really seems to be an absolute lack of education, or the parents choose to ignore it. I say let the parent pay the price in jail.

Soooooo, a protein diet eh? Well, I think they need to go to Subway and get a "spicy Italian". I bet their backside is flatter than a window. Too thin for my liking.

I wonder if he'll spend time in jail and have a confession "beat" out of him? No, just give him back to the SDF, where the officers will ask, "was she worth it" or "do you have pictures".

What I don't like is the manner that they (AP) relate this "crime" to other "crimes" that came out as no Japanese punishment for lack of evidence, but the US side doing all of the work. This is just PR for the military, to show that they are (forgive the phrase) "hard on their own".

I have to travel to/from the US from Okinawa 4 to 6 times a year. The ANA excuse is "We aprogoze for deray due to rate arribal ob air-u-craft".... That is within the airlines control. Also, the delay though customs and immigration at both ends is also a delay I could do without.

Well, I guess this is better than seeing a girl whose teeth look like someone played Yatzhee with them, and they randomly grew in any direction.
All of these silly awards are:
1: A way for forgotten, has been tarento to stay relevent
2: Nice advertising for very expensive products (I bet Phillips can charge Y12,000 for a toothbrush)
3: Comedic relief for us expats

I live in one of the main tourist areas of Japan (for Japanese that is) in Okinawa. Granted, there are quite a few Chinese and Korean tourists, but the majority is Japanese. And here, it's a bit different.
The big tourist hotels generally do go out of their way to have someone on staff to speak some English to tourists. There are some that can help in Hongul and Chinese as well.
Most of the tourist destinations on island (big and small) have multiple language information brochures or fliers so you can understand what you are looking at / talking about.
The most important thing, is Okinawans are fairly warm and receptive when it comes to foreigners. Granted, if you are in the tourist industry, you can't be rude. Got it. But my Okinawan friends and relatives all are amazed that the Japanese are so closed minded.
Now if we could just reduce the concrete hell in and around the big city (here it's Naha) that extends about 15km around it, that would be nice.
A Mainland Japan complaint, because I don't use hotels here: The whole concept of paying per person for a room is ludicrous. I mean, I have 3 small kids, and they are charged individually. So a room for us can be $300 or more if they give is a room. They look at us and say "5, no rooms. You must have 2 rooms". So why would I want to visit Nara, Sapporo, or anywhere else if it will run me $200-$400 a night?
And about all of the darn Americans here (I'm one of them, I know)....Too many of us are here. I think moving the USMC off of here would make it a lot nicer.

I hope things get better, but if they don't, they can't blame G'Dub...Wait a minute, sure they can. They'll say any problems over the next 3 years are all his fault, and change only comes after 4 years in office.

You know, this now opens the door for McDonalds to serve on US airlines...
I can see it now, the stewardess does not need to say "chicken or beef" anymore. Now it will be "Big Mac or McFish, would you like fries with that?"

Well, that and the mandatory AARP membership (American Association for Retired People). All 55 and older, plus their service is not really that good. And I fly primarily business class. When I fly coach, their vocabulary is more than one word. Two: Chicken or beef.
I say the US airlines are the worst. At least on the international flights. Inside the US, Skywest (a small regional airline based out of Salt Lake City, Utah) is by far the best. The flight crew is pleasant, the pilots are courteous, and talk quite a bit about the journey. If you are flying on United on the west coast of the US, chances are you are on one of their planes.
Oh, I forgot the really big pet peeve of mine: People that do not comprehend what the "one carry on item and one personal item" definition is. I fly with a small backpack. It holds a laptop, some magazines, and my business papers. Maybe 46x38x20 cm. It can fit anywhere (even overhead on a small turboprop). I see a lot of passengers with one roll on (that does not fit on a 777 overhead), a duffel bag, a purse/computer bag, then the obligatory duty free bags. Plus lunch/Starsucks that has to be slurped/eaten before we get off the ground. Oh, and don't get me started on people who do not fit into one seat, and they have to "ooze" over onto my seat. GRRRRRR.... And I fly next week to the US. Lovely.

I must agree with the whole "Look-at-me-the-tramp" outfits these "girls" wear. I see micro sized jean shorts with halter tops, and long boots...WTF. Of course I'm going to stare and wish to be a piece of lycra.
The US is in a jeans and t-shirt mode. Nothing like this.

They remind me of that American woman who paid all kinds of money for plastic surgery to permanently look like Barbie. Anyone remember her name? I mean, boobs are nice, but the last time I checkd, you couldn't hold a conversation with them, let alone an intelligent one.
