It does not effect me, as I travel a lot. But I think its BS to charge these rates. It's not like they are cutting costs in the US. I'd rather fly JetBlue and have satellite TV at every seat, and pay less (not to mention the leg room is great compared to "E-crap-omy Plus" on UA.

I spent $340 / night for a family of five at the hilton Tokyo bay. Then, I had to spend another $30 for breakfast for 2 kids (they only included 3 meals).
The hotels are a rip off. Like most of Tokyo.
Now, the Disney parks are nice

Um, ColAmerica, the only thing illegal is he stole the items. As far as I am concerned he can smell, lick or do anything he wants. As long as he doesn't do this near me or my kids, who am I to stop it. I mean, I think it's pretty sick, but, um, who cares.
So the church will save him? Um, lets not start with religion helping anybody, OK? This guy is a bit off his rocker, but he didn't hurt anyone. He can have his fetish or fantasy, just don't do anything illegal to obtain it. Adding in religion just dumbs down the conversation.

Nobody can defend this. Rape is a violent crime, and these guys should be punished if they did this.
Saying that, was this a confession that promises them a lenient sentence? In the absence of legal assistance? Maybe they said they did this to get out of the interrogation room.
And if they indeed targeted junior high girls, then these guys need some California justice, San Quentin general population style.......

Agree with the two seat purchase IF you don't fit into one seat. I'm 5'10" and 200 lbs. I fit just fine, even in bulkhead seats that are more narrow.
"So I tell the girl at the counter to seat me all the way in back against the toilets (seat does not recline), and put me in the middle between two very fat guys who stink. The gate agent says, "Why would I do that?". I say, because you will put me there anyway, I may as well have a choice."

I don't know about charging for total weight, but I do agree that if your body "takes up more than one seat", you should pay more. I have to fly from Okinawa to the US a few times a year, and it really bothers me when my arm and shoulder are a pillow for someone too large for a regular seat.
I'm 5'9" and 195, so don't say that I'm too thin (I could stand to loose a few pounds). The point is I paid for a seat, I should at least get all of it.

McCain has no comment on the Edwards issue. At least as of the last press conference he was in, he said no comment. So, Obama will play it safe. Good strategy, as there would have to be a lot of writers on the teleprompter for Obama to survive.

I think it's a product of the medical system here. Not enough doctors, tight hospital budgets. It's just not a good place to be a doctor. Here in Okinawa, the outlying islands don't have doctors (some have general practitioners)and have very limited staff. This is where the government can step in and help subsidize the pay so they can get more doctors.

Basically, until the J-gov repeals article 9, the US will stay. I think the US will gradually reduce its presence over the next 5 to 20 years. Maybe down to zero. But it's really up to the Japanese.

I, for one, would love this flight. I have to fly from Okinawa to Colorado Springs at least 2 or 3 times a year. And doing the Okinawa/Tokyo/San Fran/C. Springs shuffle gets old. It would be nice to fly from Okinawa to Tokyo, then Denver. Then I could rive down to the Springs (45 minutes).

The news report here on OTV said that the boys were playing, the youngest one got into trouble. The older boy jumped in to save him, but to no avail. That is about when the little girl ran for help.
No comment other than it was a sad day here. Poor kids. Hopefully they are in a better place.
