So does this mean a "decisive" committee will be formed, and they will study "decisive" action before putting this out for a referendum in the diet. And they will "decisively choose to consider all sides, and hold a vote, which will "decisively" bring the matter full circle. Then debate will begin.
There will be no intervention. I am counting on their lack of decision making being the decision itself.

So if Japan never really apologized for it's atrocities in WW II, then what makes anyone think they will teach proper history? Especially concerning one of the countries it colonized?

Wanderlust: Yes, but small moves wind up being excuses for market reactions. And I hope the G7 can talk Japan into actually taking action.
Normally, the Japanese will study the issue, then form a committee, then come up with a plan to give the idea some thought. it's this thought that will allow some negotiations and a meeting at a later date, to discuss the possibility of action, by which will only happen after sound agreement is agreed to.
So the result? They will do nothing.

This story is on CNN. The perps were doing violent things to the kids on top of the images. They said that you could "rise in status if pictures contained yourself doing these acts". And the way it was described, some were violent and painful.
May they all rot in hell.

The problem with any attack/defense on the Korean peninsula is that NK has a huge amount of conventional weapons pointed at the South, particularly Seoul. No matter what happens, if it goes down Seoul will become a parking lot, and that would be a catastrophe.
And Japan's "missile shield" of a handful of boats is nothing compared to what the US has in the area. If attacked, the US would defend Japan and the JSDF would help out.

Funny how a nice portion of Japanese products are sold overseas, but some on here don't understand this hurts Japan more to have a strong yen. Just not smart people, not smart.
A weaker yen will help imports, and companies that support them.

I applaude the airline for taking a stand for it's business. People are not "entitled" to fly in first class. The airline has rules, follow them. The same for people who have 3 carry on bags that don't fit and inconvenience everyone else. And people too big for one airline seat.
Follow the rules or take your business elsewhere.

Power. Pure and simple. They see this as being in control, and able to do what they like with whom they like.
When the little head does the thinking for the big head, there will be problems.

Um, I would say lower prices and make the country more accessible. Living here the past 7 years has taught me a few things. And it's far easier to vacation in Europe than here (oh, I lived there for 10 plus years).

The senators also do not understand how much of a problem this would create for Kadena town, and exponentially increase the risk of a collision / accident.
Yuri: yes, a lot of press said "south of Kadena" would be turned back, but the reality is Camp Lester, and all south of Camp Foster. If you think giving abck Camp Kinser and Naha Port is nothing, ask citizens of Urasoe (like my wife and her family) or Naha if it is significant. It very much is. Now Futenma AS, that is another story. I don't think the JSDF will allow that to be given back. Just a hunch.

At least the base workers will have a job. Also, a lot of land gets given back as a part of this: Naha port, Camp Kinser, and Futenma. And about 15,000 Americans will leave.
