My friend was required to have a guarantor when he got employed by a foreign company (and a big one) in Tokyo! he was completely shocked, and since he's a foreigner and no Japanese will even become a guarantor unless family tied, he asked me. I agreed, but then the company didn't accept it because I am also a foreigner, and I don't have PR.

SimonFox, while in Rome... This is the standard for hot legs here, it is obviously different from US or Norway.

Some interesting facts about this gal: "She was given the nickname "No Mercy" for her countless reported atrocities toward other show-business girls she worked with, in her teenage years, especially toward actresses, glamour models, and fashion models from foreign countries, whom she considered to be "fat"."

I don't know about Nara, but in Tokyo no young woman would dare to dry her underwear on the first floor balcony, it would disappear within one day. my GF scolded me for trying to dry hers on the 7th floor (remember the story of the guy with the fishing rod, or that agile construction worker). Difficult to understand for me, especially since I don't find the panties Jp ladies wear especially attractive or sexy (except the shobu ones maybe)

I'm not sure it's an appropriate location, many people go to Chichibu with their families in holidays, not exactly the weekend spot for otaku. Myself, I'll keep on using the Red Aroow express, it's convenient and reasonable (1370 yen)

Nessie, true, happened to me when I changed my AU phone as well. When I asked what's with the new system, all the small stuff added to a low basic fee, such as it becomes not so low, they said it's the new trend started by other companies (read Softbank) and they have to keep up with it (read have a cunning low basic fee for advertisement)

mrskit, he's of Korean descent. all my friends who changed to Softbank lured by their "cheap" offers learned soon that actually they are paying more, due to the fine print clauses and extra fees. In my opinion, Son will follow into Horie's steps

if I remember correctly, the law says 50% of the will goes to the government, in the form of whatever tax. at least that was the reason why two Korean girls were caught with big piles of cash in their garage after their dad died. unfortunately, I know two foreigners who died in Japan recently, both suicide. very sad stories (and yep, they were "white", to answer above posters)

Some moronic things in the system should also change, for example the system should be more flexible towards concepts such as a couple can live together before marriage, or that the woman/fiance/wife works and has a decent income, etc. When me and my girlfriend moved together, there is a 審査 (inspection?) of the papers, and we had to say we are engaged and mention the date of the marriage (!) she also got an approval from her parents (and both of us are in our 30s). Moreover, the university I worked for used to pay me housing allowance, but because the house contract was on both our names and she also has an income, I was denied allowance, even if I brought proof that her company doesn't pay any allowance... I really don't feel motivated by the system...

this pic reminds me that winter is getting close, time to prepare my gear! skiing in Japan is awesome, unfortunately I won't make it to Hokkaido this year, but as usual Niigata and Nagano will be my second home in winter.

Raymasaki, they do give away prizes, but those prizes ca be changed into cash at an "exchange center", right next to the pachinko parlor. a simple and efficient scheme. Most of the parlors are run by Koreans, but with the blessing of yakuza (and an appropriate fee). those two punks better pray that the police gets them first

RR, and don't you think it's ironic that a person who thinks religion and law shouldn't be separated to speak against Shariah?

to keep your analogy, it's like Stalin criticizing the Nazis

Angle, a Southern Baptist, has called herself a faith-based politician. and doesn’t believe the Constitution requires the separation of church and state.

yeah, that explains all. Loony fanatic calling others fanatics. Hopefully she will never ever get any power
