it is not reported on this site, but yesterday another horrible working accident happened: two workers fell into a hydrochloric acid tank where they suffered the most agonizing death imaginable. is it a coincidence, or the working-related accidents are on the raise?

I'm also a fan of hosiery, and IMO legs are much sexier and stylish when wearing stockings. That's one of the reasons I love Japan :)

similar stance with Cleo's. if the dog does something "illegal", such as attacking somebody on the street, getting on somebody's property and causing damage, etc., the owner should be liable. However, as with humans, if the dog is defending his property from an intruder, or defending his owner from an attack, the situation is different. as it is with humans

at my working place, we has AC on gas, which consumes a minimal amount of electricity. Of course, solar panel would be ideal (we're working on that), but at the moment gas is a nice alternative at home, my AC stays on 28 C, set on auto, and a fan is also helping. as the electricity bill proves, it's the right choice

"women to stay at home as nature intended"
wow, may I send this deep wisdom to my female friends with a PhD in science from Harvard? I assure you they are very "natural" girls, and their deepest desire is to stay home, cook and clean
but I do agree with you on the University issue. but try knocking on humanities doors, many friends of mine found it difficult to make a career with a PhD in literature or history

the new laws and intentions are laudable, but there will be problems with enforcing them, mainly due to corruption. I was pleasantly surprised by the strong police presence in Shanghai at night. But then I got puzzled when illegal taxis and pimps were offering services right near the policemen...
