This puts an interesting tilt on Japanese foreign policy. Then again, it could just be Fukuda responding to a request from Washington.

I agree with Sushi, "slides" is definitely a poor choice, 4% does not equate to the end of the world. I think one reason Kev is so popular is that in winning the election, he pushed Australia 40 years into the future (or back to the present) after the dark…

Cleo - my comment regarding overbreeding was just a stab at the shocking dog breeding practices here in Japan. Fortunately (or not) up until now these have concentrated on dachs and chihauhas, etc. Of course there would be lots of congential issues vis-a-vis overbreeding large breeds. At the same time,…

Tried to commit suicide? If you put a gun to your head and miss, you have serious problems. This is actually an interesting thing about Japan, they don't seem to call TOD (Time of Death) at the scene. Rather, they drag the poor sod (or bits of him) off to…

I cannot wait to see Ishihara try and crawl out of this one. For somebody who prides himself on being a "real man" and taking control of the situation, our beloved Fuhrer has yet to comment on round 2 of this debacle (Round 1 was a couple of month's ago…

Instead of buying "rug rat" dogs such as dachshunds and poodles, might I suggest that Japan consider overbreeding large canine varieties such as as dobermanns and rottweilers. I think this would contribute greatly to public safety.

(sarcasm) For some reason, judges are starting to take notice of the fact that people are often "verballed" by the fuzz, perhaps it is something in the water? I hope something can be done to stop this dangerous trend (sarcasm off).

I feel bad for the parents, and a little anger at all the negative attitude here. This story doesn't strike me as being nearly as bad as parents leaving their kids to die in a sweltering car while they played pachinko. Unfortunately, these are just the type of parents who…
