**A continued sign of the decay of Japan, due to a lack of strong family units in modern Japan. **
Kizuna??
**Yet, look back on your own life and some of the crazy stuff you did when you were a teen that mommy and daddy didn't know about. Still feeling the same way? ** Ni idea what the hell you were doing as a teenager but no one I know was causing bodily injury and attacking random people.

I guess these people really believe, we're has stupid as they are? Sadly, the voting public here does seem to be that stupid. How else can you explain the corruption and lack of substance in the Japanese government. Heads would be rolling in other nations at the sheer incompetency of the government since 3/11, let alone the last 20 years. Japan? "Oh well he said he was sorry, carry on..."

Sadly I think the area will just die off as working age people leave for areas where there may be at least some work. This is tragic.
Which is exactly what was happening BEFORE 3/11. I would rather my tax money be invested in growing communities rather than ones that were already slipping into decay,.

Though I will agree with - Japan doesn't know how to treat those who are mixed. He's commented before on bullying though in this case, I don't think him being half has anything to do with the issues at hand.

He's not an alcoholic, drug user, violent man, deviant of some sort.
He's a liar, a cheater and has a well known pachinko problem. With Ogi on this one. With his fame, he could have easily got visitation rights - we don't know that he's been stripped of anything as the details of the divorce and the custody haven't been made public.. He had a choice - stay at home with his wife and kids. He didn't do that. I am very, very vocal on the way men get treated by the courts here when it comes to their kids but in Darvish's case, HE was the one that walked out. He clearly wasn't ready for kids nor marriage.

The Titanic? Laughable and a little too dramatic. You do get that hundreds often die in developing nations when ferries capsize, right?

Perhaps we could also put some blame on the greedy fishermen?? Not fair just to blame "rich Asians".

To be honest though, they should have left a long time ago! Indeed, Japan needs to help these people find jobs but if there are none in the area, which we all knew there wouldn't be, time to move on.

Some of these comments are just silly - these people could do most of these changes back home - bath at night, less meat, eat less. taking off shoes (always done where I am from)....
Personally, I have had to get used to not having a backyard/garden, living in a smaller apartment (not a bad thing but the lack of storage drives me nuts sometimes!), taking public transportation, chopsticks at every meals but unlike Gyouza, I am more on-guard here. I have really had to suss out why some people are so friendly towards me (want me to do something for them) while others are just plain rude. I've learned how to pick friends better - used as the token foreigner too many times when I first got here which lead to some really nasty reality checks.

He came out and said that players in the American league are better. I am surprised there hasn't been a backlash against him for his comments. He sounds arrogant as heck in the comments above - and looked so when talking yesterday.
He's a great pitcher but personally, I think his personality sucks.

Yes, very regrettable that they don't follow protocol on some of the most important meetings Japan has ever had. Step down and let someone else come in and do the job properly.
Notes and video - and let the public in!

So that's a disgusting attack on homeless, one in Osaka on a foreigner.... Yep, "safety" country... Japan really needs to start looking into the issues that are eroding their society as this type of crime is only going to get worse in the next few years if the economy continues to tank like it is.
And teenagers? Charge their parents and hold them accountable.

This is great news. Hold them accountable! I hope more shareholders take a long hard look at the companies they're invested in and start to ask questions.

I doubt Tohoku want my unwanted English books. Also, there is no point in having this stuff in a box packed away. It needs to be by the door so it is quick to grab and get out. Sadly, my entrance is pretty small and anything in it would be in the way. That being said, we do have some stuff but nothing near what was suggested.

he had been arguing with his mother over how to spend her pension, on which the two were living,
Don't stab the hand that feeds you?
The guy sounds like a parasite single. Who is to blame for that? I'm going to go with mommy who didn't toss baby bird from the nest ten years ago. There are plenty of jobs out there for people. Thing is, many think they are above them. Mom let's them live at home, pay no rent and gives them money. Parents here need to step up and teach their kids some responsibility - getting tired of reading about spoiled kids stabbing their parents. The guy is a loser. Obviously. Hope mom recovers and the son spends a few years in jail - though once again, sponging off others.
Also, why is she getting money at 60? I thought you had to be 65 to collect!

I wonder how many injuries there'd be in less populated Toronto, Montreal, Chicago etc. after a storm. Probably the same.
Doubt it. You have to keep in mind these are the reported numbers. I am sure the numbers of injured are much, much higher. You gave three examples of cities used to snow and with the equipment (and brains) on how to deal with it. Tokyo? They don't stand much of a chance. Just like the three cities above would be panic strickened in an earthquake.
