You don't have to get married to be in love, have children, be a family and give the best to your children... Talk about judgements, opinions and not facts....

If you bothered to read my posts you would see that I agree she's got problems - which stem from her parents. Which is why I suggested BOTH be punished. I don't need to "have a heart" with regards to a 13 year old knowingly breaking the law. Problems or not, punishment is needed. Plenty of adults were abused as kids and have a hard time. Doesn't mean they should get off without a punishment. Don't you remember what it was like to be 13? I do and I certainly knew I could get away with a lot of things because of my age so went ahead and did things. I also knew wrong from right. Anyone who states a 13 year old doesn't needs their head examined. This girl knew full well what she was doing - and should be punished for it. It might actually help her in the long run. Looking the other way certainly won't.

Ivan, have a ever told you how much I enjoy your posts?

Cleo, many dog owners are the opposite. Toilet seat up so pups can get a drink when needed - of course, no cleaners or sprays allowed. Personally, I don't care either way. Up, down, as long as the aim is correct and everything ends up IN the bowl. Grosses me out to see drips and drops on the floor of bathrooms in cafes, bars and the like. Honestly, is it that hard to get it in?

Also, not sure why J-chicks complain about such things. I have seen some pretty nasty sights here in Japan in the lady's washrooms I have never, ever witnessed home.

Seems like a very kind estimate. Between that lack of knowing what to do, the government taking their sweet old time, the fires...

Glad I think is the wrong word, because if you are glad something bad happens to someone even a child, I think that shows something about you.

And what exactly does it say? Go on, I'm curious.

I highly doubt this is a valid statistic, though there are a much larger number of J-guys that import East or SE Asian wives than you would think. Usually doesn't end well from the examples I know.

The stats are out there and this isn't far off the mark. Thing is, they marry other Asians so don't stick out like sore thumbs like the rest of us. So marriages work, some don't. If I was going to go by my friends, WM/JF doesn't work out to well. Plenty of men stuck in marriages because of the kids. Mind you, most WM would howl at that - what you said isn't much different. All on who you know.

Can not understand why so many people want to harshly punish a 13 year old schoolgirl. Because SHE'S the one that knowing broke the law? Come on Yuri, if this was a Japanese ossan with fraudulent claims you'd want him punished.

at least he's got a pair.

Politics isn't about dick swinging contests. Having a pair doesn't mean you win.

Sorry Orange, I didn't put the "" there. Should have. Thing is, many women who want to work do complain about being seen as "just" a mom. Women lose their identity when they marry and have kids for the most part if they don't work. They become "Ken's mom" or "Taro's wife". Many women don't like that - hence the "just".

Kuri, for women it means they can have a kid and not have to work - unless they want to. Why men get married here is beyond me.

**I like many other black people saw something happen that many thought they would never see.....a black man become president of the USA. ** And that happened because most of the black in the US voted for him solely because he's "black". If that isn't reverse racism, I don't know what is. if a white person refused to vote for any one because they aren't white, they'd be labeled a racist. If the shoe fits, wear it. Thing is, many people cry foul only on whites. That isn't going to end things or help the community.

And yes, well aware of what "bros before hoes" means. Why you think I wouldn't is beyond me.

As for economics and whatnot. You guys do realise that is certainly CAN'T be just about race, right? Black men on average make more than white women. Yes, racism is an issue but so is sexism. Bros before hoes... The ones who really get screwed are black women.

**When Obama was elected I felt a great sense of pride that a black man had been elected. ** And he was elected because he was black for the most part. Any idea how many "jokes" I heard from Americans about "Bros before hoes"? What % of the black population voted for him because he's "black" and that was it for reasoning? Isn't that just as bad as white people voting for someone just because they're white? Funnily enough, that didn't happen though did it. Racism is indeed an issue but it will never stop being an issue if people continue to look at race only and do things based on race - be it there own or some other's. Racism isn't just a white man's disease. Until people realise that, nothing will change.

And Mo, if anyone is pissed off at Obama, it is the black community. High hopes and they've been let down. Perhaps if the majority didn't vote for him just because of him being black... I don't know of a single other American race who feel that "blacks were cool as long as they weren't in charge of anything". Look at the issues within the black community itself with regards to "light being better" and all that crap. You can't just blame the whites for this.

If you don't like that one "That is why over 60 percent of working women quit jobs at their first child birth,"

    http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=48629

Or this one... "Among married women who have been in the labor force for one year before having their first child, only 32.2% go back to work in six months."

If you think you're the "average" family with two incomes in this country you really need to take a day off of work some week day and walk around a shopping area, a park or a cafe. Plenty of research, data and graphs on this topic. I am personally shocked you need to ask for stats about this.

Sushi, if you speak to young people of Tokyo, many don't like him. Not enough to get off their butts and vote though. Ishihara's crap causes problems for the national government when it comes to international issues. Surely they have an opinion on him - and I'm wondering what it is.

Indeed, the country wants those islands but IF the islands are already Japanese, why on earth does Ishihara want them for Tokyo? Surely, the question wasn't that difficult to understand.

Wasn't the country able to cut 25% last year during "setsuden" time? Perhaps they could... make the pachinko buildings turn off their lights, demand grocery stores use covered freezers, turn off the needless vending machines... Surely that right there is the other 5%. No problem! Add in that the population is decreasing which means less homes needing power.... Problem solved.

So if they are already "Japanese" islands, why on earth does Ishihara want them?

I have to wonder what the national government thinks of this clown. Do they sit together after work and think "FFS! Shut up old man! Why do the idiots of Tokyo continue to elect him?" or do they think "Damn, why didn't we think of that??" The way the government goes here, I really haven't a clue which it is!
