**Foreign bosses are usually assigned to their post and did not work their way up the ranks. ** Wrong. Perhaps you mean they worked their way up but are not old farts like the Japanese bosses? I don't know any Japanese man who has "worked" his way up. They age their way up. Which is why they dislike the "young" foreigners who come in to clean up the mess the japanese ossans have made. Olympus is a fine example of that. And lets look at what happened there.

Where did the topsoil come from?? Has it been there all the time or was it brought it for something - and possibly from somewhere it shouldn't have come from.

People can bury their hands in the sand (snarf!) all they like but there will be a reality check with cancer rates rise and the J-government refuses to do anything about it.

Wow!! That is one strong obachan!!

They told police that a small portion of her face was still visible, which helped them to locate her,

    Ya think?

*I now realise that the 'heroes' working in the plant are peanuts too!***

You mean those day labourers who have zero training? I can't blame them for making money and messing it up. They have zero idea what they are doing. I imagine a bunch of guys in those plastic slippers, mask on trying to duct tape everything together. From the sounds of it all, I'm not all that far off.

How is squatting in a large dept store going to help them? Think this will work when the store is full of grannies? I'm all for drills and whatnot but fail to see how what they are doing would help. Bolting for the door and helping people get out I get. Squatting while some young kid tries to yell at people and tell them what to do? Not sure about that.

Smith, well said. the 'drills" I have been in here have been horrendous. Right down to my fire exit door in school being... locked. Nothing like leading a class of chu2s to their fake death. When I mentioned this to the principal, he shrugged and said 'it was just a drill". Um, and if it wasn't???

Yasukuni, the funny thing is, the happiest couples I know are western women/j guys... j/j seem mostly miserable and walk through their marriage as if they follow a manual. Not a lot of emotions there. the wg/jf have emotions but none are really what I would descrive as positive! ;) A few happily married ones I must admit but not anywhere near the happy ww/jm couples I hear - and we're the minority when it comes to marriages. Foreign women/jg are the largest but I must admit, I don't know too many non western/j females married to j guys so have no idea how that works out.

Ogi, we agree on something. It is creepy and weird. And yes, she sounds like a moron.

Vision? The Olympic bid which he's wasted millions on? Save Japan? By burning nuclear waste in Tokyo? Help the rest of Asia? While hating them and making racist comments? Good luck with that line of thinking.

If you go to the japan times website, there is an article to go with it that is rather well written. Doesn't sound ruffled at all if you read the article.

God hoping! The last thing Japan needs is a young ring wing leader who hangs on for years and years.

Honestly, the guy cuts library budgets, lights up Midosuji with the money saved, wants to fire teachers for not signing kimigayo and wants a POOL on the Dotonbori river. Why oh why do people think this man is fit to lead a party let alone Osaka?

"New Sunrise Party". They couldn't come up with a different name? I have problems keeping track of all these party names as they all sound the same - and do exactly the same thing. Make pathetic promises, screw the people and line their pockets. "Old racist gits party" would be more appropriate and easier to remember.

Smith, if the people are dumb enough to listen to the government and go home, so be it. I care about MY food, my water, my family... If they can't be bothered to do a little critical thinking and follow like sheep, shoganai. And the way this government is going, I doubt they'll be using tax money to help these people pay for their cancer bills in a couple of years. Win/win?? Yes, it is horrible to write that but let's be honest, it is the truth. If people don't bother to think for themselves and believe everything this pathetic government (and that includes them ALL regardless of party) well then... so be it.

Of course. There has been no fines, no outcry... why not announce to the public there has been a leak and "test the waters". No problem? Okay, let's let a little more out and see what happens... Nothing. It gets reported but "shoganai". What this company is doing is criminal. What this government is doing is criminal. Good thing the public here is so complacent they just sit here like lame ducks and allow it to happen. Pathetic. Just pathetic. Though sadly, none of this is surprising.

**But it's the girls who are so picky. **

This is what I don't get. How on earth can they be picky? What exactly do they bring to the table? Most single girls here in their 20s live at home with mom and dad, don't know how to cook, clean or look after kids, don't make enough money to support themselves... They want to marry a rich, handsome man who will look after them economically wise while they stay home and send their kids to kindergarten then private schools, jukus... They will buy pre-made food from the grocery store, let the house become cluttered with crap... How on earth are they allowed to be picky?? Are they cute? Sure some are but looks fade and then these guys are left with... Someone who really isn't upholding their end of the deal.

Some of my single older friends really make me laugh with their expectations. Guys see through it and while they've got their demands, guys their age are dating younger women. Why marry someone these days when guys can pay for everything a wife offers with the exception of kids? Sex, cleaning, laundry, food... can all be bought.

So why don't we compromise, meet in the middle and agree that no BENTO (Japanese lunch box) is stinky.

How on earth is that meeting in the middle? If anything, you should be admitting that some of them DO stink. That would be meeting in the middle.

Oh and fast food includes MOS, Freshness Burger... all Japanese companies, right?

Indeed, what it refers to but you seemed to miss the point of my comment. Perhaps because most Japanese don't get sarcasm...

**Korean products = worse quality, cheaper price. **

Cheaper indeed, worse? Ha! Keep thinking your Japanese products are the best my friend. Someone will have to for these companies to survive.

Great. I am sure some nutter has his hands on this and is looking forward to the next attack on the public like the subway attacks. Why are companies allowed to have this stuff just lying around in plastic bottles?? Not restricted access? Than how about not storing it there?! Idiots.

True, that is exactly what I was thinking! Blame everyone and everything but them! Never mind that the quality has gone down, the prices have gone up and they do nothing new or innovative.

Oh well, Japanese people will keep on buying them while I look for the cheaper and better Korean goods.
