The thing with changing to Japanese nationality is that they will still not be considered by the local population as "Japanese". Legally yes but I can't see any benefits besides being able to vote. It certainly won't make my white skin change and look like a local.

Those with PR should be able to. To be honest, I find that most gaijin have a much better understanding and interest in J politics than any Japanese I've met. Probably because we have more concerns but most Japanese don't seem to have any clue about what goes on here…

I think it is a great idea. J housewives can now get off their butts and help out. Why not have them work in the new daycares and after school centers that will be much needed when this happens? Most have kids, should have a clue on how to look…

Well it will get rid of the folks that are no able to do anything so go into teaching but I would suggest they make them spend a year student teaching. As it stands they only do three weeks and only have to teach 6 classes in those three weeks.…
