re: ReaperInc - I think that SecularBeast's comment has to do with the bastardization of the term 'ninja' rather than what it is the participants are actually practicing. A ninja is a ninja - what defines this has already been established. To co-opt this term as a fanciful new way to describe a martial art dictum that in no way resembles the classic definition of 'ninja' is just plain wrong and, in my opinion, borders more on cosplay than martial art.

Microsoft, Intel and H-P will not be missed. The Microsoft booth was always huge but boring. H-P never seemed to bring anything new or astounding. Panasonic & Samsung have been dazzling folks for the last few years at CES and I expect more of the same this year.

This is what musicians do - make music. If there was no demand there would be no tour. Sometimes folks forget that this is how these folks make their living.

The 'penny auction' sites are blatant dodges to begin with. You bid a penny but it cost you a 50-penny fee to place the bid! So take the final selling price and multiply by 50x and that is what the site owners receive for their merchandise! Folks who use these sites as buyers are gambling that they will be the last fool in for a penny - actually 51 pennies!

We have a triple-feature of movies we watch every Christmas: A Christmas Story, Die Hard & The Sound of Music. While Sound of Music is not Christmas movie, watching it on Christmas has become a tradition. PS: Get the Blu-Ray version as it is gorgeous!

More importantly - did her auto-tune unit arrive with her? Without out it that girl's singing is constantly off-pitch and out of tune.

US tour shortened/cancelled because they hate each others guts and cannot sell out venues. But willing to suck it up for a guaranteed cash bonanza in Japan. I opted out of seeing the VH reunion and went to the Scorpions show instead. No regrets - these guys still rock!

First step in increasing tourism: Remove the hefty tariff Japan imposes on each passenger on an international flight. That is nearly $600 now coming from the US.

Yamanouchi town is quite rural and seems there has been little encroachment into wildlife habitat since the Olympics. Very peaceful and serene place about 45 minute train ride from Nagano. It is the end of that train line.
