    "With the vast size of Russia, why does it need the Kurils?"

    @zichi: I'm no expert on the subject, but IMHO I think it's not so much a matter of need, but more of nationalist pride for Russia when it comes to the islands. They were soundly beaten by Japan in the early 20th century, so I'm thinkingthat this may be some form of payback, albeit 100 years after the fact.

    The only question that I have is, When are you throwing your hat in the ring? I mean that as a compliment, and not sarcasm. I agree with almost every comment you have written, and we seem to share the same political views, as I feel that candidates/politicians from both parties are FOS, and care about nothing, other than how long they can stay in office, and line their own pockets, at the expense of their constituents. I think that Rick Perry may be the only viable candidate to give Obama any real concern. What has Romney done to make anyone change their mind about him from the last time he tried, and wasn't nominated?

    China, "those that never failed, never tried". There's no shame in failure. There's only shame when you try to make yourselves out to be something that you're not (perfect), and then try to cover it up when you actually do fail.

    There is nothing wrong with Ishihara's comments, and wanting to have a stronger military/Nuke capable force, so long as you don't have a pacifist constitution, and you don't try to play the victim/blame USA "card" every time the anniversary of the bombings comes around. Especially during the week of. As has been stated before, his timing is way off. Either you want to do your part as being the only country to suffer a Nuke/Atomic attack, to rid the world of Nukes, or you want to start your own nuclear weapons development program. You can't have it both ways.

    I will just say, that this is a very interesting topic, and I for one, never really noticed, or cared about the lot of Nigerians in Japan, when I visited there earlier this year. I have heard a lot of stories of how bad some Nigerians can be, but that can be said for any race. You even have bad Japanese in Japan (yakuza) for example. There is good and bad in everyone, everything. If you are stupid enough to close your mind and lump an entire group into the same mold, just because of a few, then so be it, that is your right. But don't go piss and moan, when someone treats you in the same manner. At the same time, don't let drop your guard, and allow yourself to become victim to the scum that is out there, trying to get over on others by dishonorable means.

    "Wasn't it December 8th?"

    It was December 8th, 1941 in Japan, and December 7th, 1941 in the U.S., due to the International Date Line.

    I never had Yakitori until I visited Japan earlier this year. It goes great with beer, but then again, what doesn't. :-)

    I pretty much agree with just about all of the posters on here, regarding this topic thus far.

    Especially NuckinFutz comment "God willing the Navy SEALs now have all your names and addresses from Bin Laden's little black book and you'll soon be getting that little "midnight double-tap" too!" LMAO... I love it. The sooner they are gone, the better off the world will be!!

    There are always 3 sides to a story, your side, their side, and the truth. I applaud the telling of both sides of the story, and I also applaud the truth coming out as well, and the different perspectives. For those that believe Japan was the victim, you just refuse to see the truth which is entirely your right, but don't go trying to force your views on anyone else at the same time. Kudos to the survivors/veterans who were finallt able to find closure, and bury the hatchet with their former enemies. At the same time, I'm not going to judge the ones who can't/wont. I have absolutely no idea of the hell that they went through that day, or for the entire war, and the years following for that matter. I'm thankful to all of those veterans, and I cherish the alliance that came out of it between the U.S., and Japan.

    @888naff: I have to be honest with you, and answer no, I didn't think so, but that is sort of the point. No one knew, not even the so called experts. My point is, I'm not going to fault anyone for making a decision, based on what they felt was best for themselves, or their families. It's not my place to judge them, especially when I'm far enough away from the situation, and quite safe from it.

    @Honne:

    I agree with everything you said.

    @Otokam:

    You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I agree with you that no one should be shooting their mouths off, and telling you what you should feel is best for your kids. At the same time, it's pretty double standard of you to at the same time shoot your mouth off, about the foreigners who "panicked" and left, and are now back. Unless you're an expert on radiation leaks and know for certain how far it would've spread, then you are really in no position to shoot off your mouth as you don't know their situation, same as how the people on FB and other sites are in no position to shoot off their mouths about you and your circumstance. Would you be prepared to take in their families had they have stayed, and did suffer from radiation sickiness? Live your life how you see fit, and let them live theirs.
