I don't know much about her, but I love the Sengoku Period and before. I'm looking forward to the next NHK Taiga Drama, and getting to see, andknow more about her as well.

So, if those were her reasons for quiting/abandoning the governorship of Alaska early, what's to stop her from jumping ship when the going gets tough if she were POTUS?

Badsey: Another excellent point you bring up, that is often overlooked. I believe that Mexico's economy ranks 14th in the world.

Mexico's politicians, and government is very corrupt!! That's where the majority of their economic problems lie!! It is not the United States responsibility, to provide a better way of life for Mexico's citizens, but rather, it is Mexico's responsibility, to provide abetter way of life for it's own citizens. And what exactly does "back of the line" mean? If they're already in the U.S., what constitutes going to the back of the line, if they got into the U.S. ahead of people who are/have been waiting to enter the U.S. by doing it the right way? Will they have to go back to their country of origin, and then wait to re-enter the U.S.? Other than that, "back of the line" really doesn't mean anything!!

Alphaape: The problem with that is, there are many instances of some that is in the United States illegally, being stopped, detained, given a summons to appear in front of an immigration judge to prove that they are here legally, then released, only to never appear/show up for their hearing. Why show up, when you know you're not in the U.S. legally, and deportation is the consequence? If they didn't play by the rules to come to the U.S. in the first place, why in anyone's right mind would they believe that they would play by the rules later in the game, after getting caught?

As a Senator, instead of whining about it, why don't you raise the standards for Toyotas!!

First of all, I am in no way saying that Toyota is not being scrutinized unfairly, because i do think that this thing with the US congress is going a bit overboard. But for those that think there is nothing wrong, mechanically with Toyota vehicles, then why is Toyoda over here apologizing, and making a bunch of promises instead of telling the US congress that they are lying, and are conspirng to eliminate Toyota as competition for the US auto makers?

MrUSA: "So if Toyota goes bankrupt because of this will, the US government bail them out?" Will Japan? Will you? You seem to be more concerned about Toyota's future than most anyone else on here. What will you do to bring Toyota out of bankruptcy if it goes that far?

NeoJamal: It's not a matter of Japan allowing the US to help them. From the end of WW2, all the way to now, Japan doesn't have much of a choice. Japan isn't exactly the most liked nation in the region. And as the old saying goes "some wounds never heal", so is the case with Japan and her neighbors regarding old scrs from WW2. It is highly unlikely seeing as how most if not all countries have some sort of economic dealings with Japan, than any of the former victim countries of Japanese aggression would seek war with Japan, but the probability can't be ruled out either. Especially when you have nut jobs like "Pajama Boy" still in power, and at the head of one of the largest armies in the world, not to mention WMDs as well.

IMO Russia is just playing the PC game, with no intention of giving the islands back. Not without great cost to Japan at least.

fabevaldez: Most if not all of the ethnic Japanese that were incarcerated in the internment camps were American, and not Japanese citizens, so there would be no logical reason for the U.S. to apologize to Japan for the way the U.S. treated it's own citizens. And the U.S. di apologize to the Japanese that were put in the camps in the form of reparations, and a formal apology, so what more are you looking for with that regard? And you say that the U.S. had no reason to have a war with Japan? If someone came up from behind you, and all of a sudden just started busting you in the face with fists, elbows and the whole works, would you feel that you have no reason to fight that attacker? The U.S. had every reason to go to war with Japan. The U.S. was attacked. I don't feel that the U.S. has any more reason to apologize than Japan does. It was war, and war is hell.

While there are many out there that are hoping/waiting for China to be the new/sole superpower, there are many things that come with that, that China just can't handle right now. Like for one, being able to maintain a war far from it's shores. China just doesn't have the logistical capability just yet, and it is many years away rom being able to do that. Number two, China has too much internal instability, and thirdly, China still lags as far as weapons technology. Now I am basing most of this on opinon, but there is a small ring of truth to it. What does the pro China faction think the Chinese will be able to do, that the former Soviet Union couldn't do, who had much more capabilities militarily to wage a war far from it's shores? As far as President Obama, bowing to the emperor, and emperess of Japan, which is clearly perfectly normal culturally, given the country he was in. Are these same naysayers as upset, or outspoken over the late/former President Richard Nixon, or "Tricky Dick" as some liked to call him, bowing to the late/former emperor Hirohito, that wartime emperor? I'm guessing not.

yabits: Once again, you answer the bell with a well thought out post. I may not agree with everything that you say, but I don't always disagree either. I guess what I was trying to say, is that maybe it would be better for the protester's cause, at least in their part of thr world, to not have an American face on their cause, or for it to look like they are puppets of the US, and that all of this is caused by US meddling or however the government propagandists try to spin this.

A couple of questions come to mind. 1.) Seeing that we already have our plate full with Iraq & Afghanistan, exactly what more can we do to add teeth to any threats of consequenses Iran will suffer if the violence continues? 2.) What makes Iran different from the other parts of the globe like The Sudan, North Korea, and other countries where government sanctioned violence prevails, and have a lot longer than what is going on in iran now?

While all of this the Dems. did this & and the Repubs. are responsible for this, let us ask ourselves which party was in power//control of congress when our first president took his proper place in office? This issue is way older than republican & Democrat. Both parties are equally to blame for the evils of the past regarding slavery/Jim Crow/segregation. As on poster stated earlier, he/she doesn't feel guilty for the sins of their ancestor, and they absolutely have no reason to feel guilty for something they had absolutely nothing to do with. If the apology is just going to be another empty gesture, then what is it really worth?
